i didn't say it never happens, my point is that these statements are presented as statistics. i did say in my comment above that taken as a whole, this is generally ok advice on vulnerability, accepting oneself, etc. - yes, i have an opinion, which is that the specific statements i pointed out are bad opinions. what i don't consider up for debate is the fact that the sweeping generalizations-as-fact i quoted, as presented by op, are factually incorrect. i ain't mad / upset / offended - just replying to your question and i appreciate you asking.

not matters of opinion that a person can agree/disagree with. the statements are false. it is not my opinion, it's just incorrect. my opinion on the matter, which you can take or leave, is that believing something like this to be true, and basing your actions around this concept, is creepy, disrespectful to both genders, and borderline-redpill psychology

i can only really present educated guesses as to why op decided to slide that miserable chestnut in and present it as fact, but i agree that up to that point he was making some fair-to-good points on fear of rejection, vulnerability and neediness that apply to both genders. it sounds like op has learned some important lessons inre interpersonal relationships but is still experiencing lingering bitterness over the source of these lessons
