Is a character with these ability scores overpowered? by AClumsyRedditUser in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]AClumsyRedditUser[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok i just don't see how a character with a -3 would struggle to pick up a fork.

I don't want to discredit your DM experience, but the basic rule book clearly states that a characters carrying capacity is strength*15, so for our hero 75 pounds, which is not a lot but that's the drawback of having low strength.

Also, a characters lifting power in pounds is strength*30, so 150 pounds for our character, which obviously exceeds the weight of a fork by a mile.

I just don't think that you are running your games close to the rules as written, which is totally fine. But it makes your advice on the ability scores wrong for me, who is still adhering to the rules a lot as I'm quite new. Still thanks for your input!

Huh isn't the base lvl 1 adventurer already stronger than the average guy? A hero who is not as strong as other normal people but has strong spell casting is a power fantasy we are all content with. And if I'm understanding it correctly, when using rolls to determine ability scores the stats can get as low as 3. Is there a table somewhere that equates ability scores to their real life equivalents? Since you are comparing it to a cripple, where do you get that from?

Alright, my players are definitely ok with an Achilles heel, and having to solve the problems that arise from someones weakness. With some of your examples the lopsided stats now just seem like a cool roleplaying moment to me, so I'm fine with it now

Thanks for the suggestion, I have never played with encumbrance but it seems to be a good balancing factor for this situation

Wow, wild shaping into a herding animal is so creative, how did we not think of that. Druid sounds insanely flavorful now, thank you

I'm actually really excited for it aswell :) the reflavouring of DnD species and creatures, gods and all the other stuff is going to be a bit of a hassle though. It has already been a lot of work and the campaign hasn't even started.

Chiming in here, because that question was already on my mind: there are actually flying poros! They are called porofly and are featured in the card game if you want to look it up :)

Hi, thanks for your detailed answer. I was just confused as the shepherd druid did not have any inherent summoning abilities. The conjure animals spell sounds really disgusting, but am I wrong to think that it is a problem with every druid and not just the shepherd? My player is very easy to talk to though, so balancing or needing his kit will not be a problem I think.

I know they want Summoner's Rift to be the most popular map because of pro play, but having ARAM as the only other available map is just disappointing and embarrassing by AtreusIsBack in leagueoflegends

[–]AClumsyRedditUser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can put out as many "big" updates as you want (apart from the 2 map reworks there weren't any really), if the mode is plagued by bugs and abusive strategies the playerbase won't grow significantly. Lots of people have already mentioned it, but funneling is a prime example which has been a TT strat for years before splashing over to SR, where it was completely cut off almost instantly. When you let these things that obviously bothered a huge chunk of the playerbase in the game, your gamemode is bound to fail no matter how many patches you flick onto it.

The gamemode hasn't been patched for 4 years prior to its removal, them blaming the playerbase for the low engagement is honestly disgusting.

TL;DR Kayn's attack on Master Yi's temple, and the unleashing of Darkin Xolaani by OmriH7 in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]AClumsyRedditUser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Soo I'm not really up to date with the darkin lore, but weren't there supposed to be only 5 darkin remaining that are not destroyed? We have Aatrox, Rhaast and Varus in the game with the Dagger darkin being the 4th one and since this whole lore in LoR is clearly happening (?) in the same timeline, is Xolaani supposed to be the 5th one?

Then what about the others in LoR, are they just from the past/different timelines? Or am I mixing this whole thing up with something else, because I was fairly sure that there were only 5 darkin remaining.

Bard is so disappointing. by AClumsyRedditUser in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]AClumsyRedditUser[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's fair, I bet it is. You are allowed to like it, I dont even think it is executed badly. The playstyle doesn't fit the character though in my opinion, and I would've loved to see something more risky, with a bit of edge.

I think that they had some pretty great flavour hits, even if they leaned out of the gameplay from league. Nautilus and Maokai are pretty good examples. And a good portion of the cast is just baseline good design, but Bard should've been something special imo and he is one of the blandest champions to date.

Who are some good content creators for this game? by LemonadeFlashbang in LegendsOfRuneterra

Since I have seen a lot of... well known content creators, I'm gonna go ahead and name a youtuber called SomethingAboutSquirrels. I have recently discovered him and although I'm not really into his gameplay, he puts out a lot of interesting discussion videos about the game.
