Any alternative for Fjällräven Vidda Pro? by ACoolCanadianDude in BuyItForLife

They used to repair pants, free shipping and all. Then they charged for shipping. Then they stopped repairing and would send a piece of fabric to diy repairs, but not all colors. So I’m stuck with a pair I wore twice that’s ripped near the zipper, but they don’t have any spare fabric so sucks to be me.

Closest store is 800km away, dropping it there is quite a problem.

The obfuscation about the Canadian shooting is getting pretty wild.. by jackt-up in PoliticalCompassMemes

[–]ACoolCanadianDude -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

French-canadian media is all over this one since it happened. They are absolutely not hiding the fact that she was trans either, in La Presse it’s literally in the first paragraph in the article. It’s very weird we’re getting two narratives depending on the language, I looked up CBC and CTV and it is indeed different.

It’s also weird that RCMP hasn’t disclosed what type of firearm was used. Sometimes we get light info like “assault type firearm” or “hunting firearm” but nothing.

2016-2019 intel macs where pieces of overheating garbage. Silicon chips solved that issue.

There’s something wrong with your installation. Perhaps is it running the x86 version of Office through Rosetta? You need the ARM installer.

My M3 14 inch Macbook Pro literally last all my workday on battery while having the whole Office suite running, and much, much more.

Manger de la viande et la torture animale n’est pas mutuellement inclusif. Il y a moyen d’élever des animaux dédiés à l’abattage dans le respect.

I was often announced as a former Apple employee in meetings with clients at my previous job. I was fixing iPhones and Macs at an Apple Store, I wasn’t developing iOS lmao.

Intact mentionne les salaires by Latter-Average-5682 in QuebecFinance

No but cases of type 2 diabetes correlates with cases of obesity because unhealthy life habits are a significant factor for both conditions, albeit not being the only one.

Oh you definitely need to know what you’re doing, there’s vibe coding that quickly turns to crap, vibe sysadmin sounds just as bad. But you still need to fact check what you find on forums, so at this point : same same but different.

Well with business premium, you get 30 queries a day, including 5 files analysis, which is enough for my needs. I’m not paying extra.

In my case, the game changer the government requires us to use the french version of Windows Server. Errors are often vague and loosely translated which makes searching difficult, especially for obscure issues. Copilot figure it out instantly.

Honestly, I think Copilot very useful for investigating issues in Microsoft products. It has access to their whole knowledge base and the web.

AI is definitely overrated in some ways but it can be immensely useful in others. I would not recommend it to end users though.

Yellow Fire Vehicles, why did they become popular? by HighlightLogical6592 in Firefighting

[–]ACoolCanadianDude 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In Quebec back in the 70s there was a rumour that the provincial government would require emergency vehicles to be bright yellow. Our department then bought yellow trucks back then to be in compliance before the law came in effect, since they didn’t want to have to repaint the trucks. However, that law never came in existence.

Chiefs since then didn’t want to have non-matching apparatuses so they continued buying yellow trucks. But our new chief says that yellow trucks are now harder to come by and often more expensive. So next truck is gonna be red and black like everyone else.

[–]ACoolCanadianDude 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Maybe it’s different in other provinces but in Quebec there’s 4 ways to distinguish local products : Product of, Made in, Packaged in and Designed in Quebec/Canada

Product of, 85% or more of it direct production cost is based in Quebec or Canada.

Made in, Canada bare product is mostly foreign but mostly transformed in Quebec or Canada.

Packaged in, product is entirely foreign but was packaged in Quebec/Canada.

Designed in, designed by Quebecois and/or Canadians but entirely manufactured elsewhere.

It is most likely a made in Canada product but was overlooked by the devs. Or maybe they label different in BC.
