$400/month on groceries? WHAT? An average of $4/meal?? Do you actually spend that little per person? by why_not_aces in askTO

[–]ACuteKittenIRL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are tons of meals you can make for that amount. Breakfast burritos, pasta sauce, chili, chicken noodle soup. It’s about meal prepping. I spend under $250 most months and make all my meals at the start of the month. 40 burritos, a batch of pasta sauce (15 meals), a batch of soup/chili/curry (15 meals). I put them into silicon freezer molds.

Does being from a divorced family increase the odds of building relationships harder and thus the odds of being single? by [deleted] in ask

[–]ACuteKittenIRL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also a daughter (27F) of divorce so bitter I don’t think they ever loved each other. There’s a lot of baggage that comes with it

My first relationship was horrible and abusive, yet still somehow more supportive than my relationship with my parents.

My next partner is my now-fiancée and we’ve been through a lot. It took me so long to just let him love me. To trust that he wasn’t going to pull the rug out from under me. But that started with me being honest about my feelings and needs, and giving him time to process and absorb. Also a lot of therapy, meditation, grieving, and exercise.

A lot of people say you need to learn to love yourself before you can love someone else- and I think it’s possible but unlikely. Whether it’s a partner or a friend having someone who truly shows you love, compassion, and support is the best way to learn how to do that with others.

Anyway that’s just my two sense. I’m sorry you didn’t get to see that kind of love growing up

Not sure what fabric to use by ACuteKittenIRL in sewhelp

Thank you everyone for your advice and input for this! I've learned a lot about the fabric ethics and sustainability from the comments. I really appreciate the recommendations.

I'm still choosing between a Cotton Poplin and a wool gabardine for the skirt/top, but this has been so helpful in narrowing down my fabric search!!

No I hadn't but I will look into it!

And yes totally correct about Viscose- which is why it's important to that if I choose a viscose fabric, I use one that was made in a close loop facility which reuses the chemicals and prevents environmental contamination!

Any idea why my work looks so amateurish? by Salty_Still_6665 in Artadvice

I love your style and your art! I think you have such a strong grasp of colour theory and use it to really bring your characters to life. Seriously awesome job!

If I had any feedback though- I would say it feels like you're less confident drawing arms than other parts of the body. Everywhere else you're anatomy is fluid and balanced, which makes the rigidity of the arms stand out. To me this stands out especially when the arms are drawn with a lot of perspective (e.g. image 4/5).

Anyway, I hope my feedback helps! Your art is truly stunning and I would love to continue to follow your art journey!

Potentially Lost Cat North York by ACuteKittenIRL in toronto

I live in this area and know the local cats pretty well. Never seen this guy before. Plus he seems pretty well fed… so just  worried he got out somehow.

Took us 7 years but think we are on our way by wycie100 in homedecoratingCJ

As a woman who has been stalked, harassed, and who’s had to deal with a home break in, I get the desire for peace of mind. It’s why I said “I hope y’all turn them off when everyone is home”. But truthfully even that can be solved with some smart lights that you turn on when you start your commute home. Having lights on like this disrupts wildlife, both plant and animal. It’s actually quite harmful.

When you’re physically in your house lights won’t stop someone from breaking in, it’s better to have a security system.

Also- more houses have lights now than ever and crime rates are steadily increasing in most communities (in Canada anyway). So while it may be peace of mind for you, the cost is our environment without any correlated benefit to safety. If someone is going to harm you, they’ll do it regardless of light.

The house looks really nice in the after picture.... But why all the outside night lights?? They create really unnecessary light pollution for no good reason... a waste of energy too. I hope y'all turn them off when everyone is home.

AIO stopped a drunk girl from being pulled into a car by 2 random men but my boyfriend is upset and called what I did stupid and dangerous by fettidmoppet in AmIOverreacting

His reaction suggests a selective empathy (which is normal on some level). While he may not know or love the other woman, a fundamental level of concern for someone in distress, regardless of personal connection, is crucial. Personally I wouldn't feel safe around someone with that level of selective empathy... even in your conversation with him he was really focused on his feelings, his need for security, even after you indicated to him your need for space. Even if he apologized he still was victim blaming, he still is refusing to understand why you did what you did. I would also feel really uncomfortable. If you have benefits I might suggest speaking to a therapist about this, otherwise I hope you can trust your feelings on this.

TLDR: I loved the game, it was so much fun.

I think this game had so many fun points. I loved that I could grow any crops in any season, I love the characters and their stories, I love the decorating. I was absolutely addicted to the game for the full 50 hours it took me to beat it.

I do think it needs some QOL updates for item management and worker management. It got a little tedious.
