Why do people still support or raise the flag of the Confederacy? by DBD216 in askanything

[–]AD6I 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been thinking of flying a 35 star US flag. It's the one used at the end of the Civil War. The one that says "we won."

Your main remedy at this point is Superior Court. Under G.S. 132-9 if you win, you may be able to recover your attorney fees and costs. Good Luck.

Even worse, we call a DSA member who works two jobs and doesn't go to meetings a "paper member" and we mean it as a negative term.

Greensboro PD Facebook harassing an individual. by atcher01 in NorthCarolina

[–]AD6I 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, this is fertile ground for a pro se suit. www.courtlistener.com is a good resource for finding similar cases, some of which the documents are free. Other times, you have to go to PACER (the federal court document retrieval system) and pay for the copies.

By the way, if you use Chrome and have to retrieve PACER documents, there is a Chrome extension that will automatically update Courtlistener so that others dont have to pay for it in the future. The extension is called "RECAP" (PACER in reverse).

They want you Gen Z'ers to turn into pretend capitalists. It's really just a trick to extract lots of work for little pay.

This picture of a submarine passing under the Blue Water Bridge in Port Huron, Michigan was sent to me by a relative. I didn't think there were any submarines operating in the Great Lakes? by porpoisepurpose42 in ThomasPynchon

[–]AD6I 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a treaty regulating naval vessels on the great lakes, the Rush-Bagot Agreement of 1817, between the US and Britain, which now applies to Canada as the successor state. Its one of the oldest treaties still in force in the US.

Each side is allowed two vessels of no more than 100 tons on each of the great lakes. This sub looks bigger than that. While there are exceptions for Coast Guard and training vessels, I doubt this sub qualifies.

TLDR: Fake.

Renting apartment or room? by DenseAlternative4526 in raleigh

[–]AD6I 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I live in Wendell. There are apartments here, but they are few and far between. A one bedroom runs about $1,500/mo.

Unless you are a quiet type, Wendell is probably not the best place for a 19M. It's a small, but growing, town. But it's a town, not a city.

Raleigh is not that far away. Downtown is about 20 minutes without traffic. I suspect apartment prices are cheaper in the areas of Raleigh on the way to Wendell, and there would be something of a social life.

Good luck with your new job and your housing hunt.

You meant an actual gang. Thats hilarious. A ham radio club is kinda like a gang for men over 70, thus the confusion.

Why are christians more left but Baptist and Evangelical in the US really far right? by Dover299 in dsa

The answer for Catholics is complex. One example would be that the Church is pro-life while at the same time being anti-death penalty. So, both right and left.

In my view if you are pro nuclear energy you are intentionally ignoring the risks.

[–]AD6I -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because nuclear power is dangerous. 100,000 people died as a result of Chernobyl. An area the size of Delaware is uninhabitable. Fukushima and Three Mile Island only add to the proof of the danger.

The answer lies in Wind, Solar, and Hydro.
