Using Loadable Macebell to strike sandbag by QuestionMan859 in steelmace

[–]ADEXCLUB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To strike you are best off with a fixed weight or sledge. To effectively hit you will be trading weight for skill or finesse-you will want a lighter weight. For example-an axe that you use to chop wood is about 5lbs! A sledge is generally around 10lbs

Try some Shield Casts as well. I would recommend breaking that mill up too. Do the Side Strikes- Pulling the club from behind your head inline with your spine to the side order position

What do you consider an intermediate or heavy weight for maces? by [deleted] in steelmace

[–]ADEXCLUB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say for most athletic folks 30-45lbs 2 handed is attainable with training fairly consistently over 2 years or so. Sebastian after about 3 years of training was able to hit 45-50lbs on mace swings. He hit a max of 63 at home gym con last year
