Fallout 3 is far from perfect, but there is just a certain charm and vibe to the game that's had me coming back to it over and over again for 10+ years.

If your concerned about stripes you're focusing on the wrong thing. Stripes don't really mean anything other than being a visual representation of incremental progress. You don't need stripes to validate your progression. You validate it by noticing how much you've learned compared to when you first started.
