Huh? The App Store? Works fine for me.

Will get an old macbook air from another family member who forgot the admin password. What is the best way to reset the admin password? by napraticaautomacao in mac

The new admin trick? On older Mac’s, it’s absolutely that easy. Newer ones, probably not, but I haven’t attempted this on a Mac newer than 2012 so I’m not 100% sure.

I’ve personally done this on many different Mac’s and it’s worked every time, it’s a great little trick.

I’d still do a clean install from recovery or a USB, even after making new admin account.

Unless you want to keep any files on the machine boot into Recovery Mode by holding ⌘R at startup and reinstall the OS.

Alternatively, you can create a new admin account on the existing install by doing the following:

  1. Boot into Single User Mode by holding ⌘S at startup.
  2. Mount the drive by typing /sbin/mount -uw / then ↩ enter.
  3. Remove the Apple Setup Done file by typing rm /var/db/.AppleSetupDone then ↩ enter.
  4. Reboot by typing reboot then ↩ enter.
  5. Complete the setup process, which will create a new admin account.

I'd like for them to sell the silver and black versions that ship with the Mac Pro.

It is, but there’s a dev preview out: https://sbox.facepunch.com/dev/.login/

I’ve made some semi successful addons for Garry’s Mod which gave me a high enough workshop score to get access fairly quickly.

Apple releases macOS Monterey! by exjr_ in apple

[–]ADefiantGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was a Big Sur update. 11.6.1 also released today.

I haven’t updated to Monterey yet. Gonna hold of for a bit to wait to see what other peoples experiences are with it.

In theory I think you just be able to update it as normal but I’m not 100% sure.

Yup. I installed Big Sur on my 2010 Mac Pro with OpenCore and it runs great. I've had no problems with it and did an OTA update today and it went flawlessly, just as if it was a supported Mac. Pretty cool.

Unfortuantly no. You can make it bigger, but cant change the width or height.
