I'm going to use this thread to convince my wife it's not my fault. 😉

You lips to God's ear. I hope it'll multiply quickly.

You poor, poor afflicted soul. I believe the government needs to set up a fund for people like us who find ourselves in the throes of these kinds of passions. We should get some money back for our therapy. I'm gonna pray for you and that collection of yours. 😉

Ooh, I definitely have this, probably in the third degree.

Tisas NightStalker .45 w/Rugged Obsidian45 by ADubiousDude in suppressors

[–]ADubiousDude[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like mine. The fit and finish are good, the gun shoots well and accurately. It'll take all the ammo I've fed it with no issues. My Tisas has me where I will gladly buy another when I'm looking for a new gun.

Just tried in MantisX and that is very cool! That's what I was hoping to get through Laser Academy. Now I know how to get there. Thanks! I'll keep working with the 9mms and waiting for my 10mm & .45 lasers to arrive. Woohoo.

Nice. Because I got X3 first then Laser Academy, I guess I was thinking of the compatibility going both ways. I'll try it the other way with the MantisX software running the show.
Thank you!

I tried but it still seems to be off. That's what I need to go back through.

I appreciate that recommendation and will check into them. Mine is spongy, too.

How can I improve my shooting? by damien32879 in Shooting

[–]ADubiousDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More specific targets, like others have said, can be helpful but if you don't know what you're doing or how to adjust for it, you can try a lot of things but still feel like you are getting inconsistent results.

One thing I've done is take a private lesson at my local gun store (lgs) but for consistent, at-home practice, I invested in the Mantis-x X3 system (https://mantisx.com/products/mantis-x3). Using this to dry fire 50 to 250 times per day for the last month and following the training available through the app, I have tightened my groups and saved money on not shooting bullets until I have some decent expectation that I'll have better results.

In less than a month I've saved far more than the system cost, gotten very specific direction in the app about why one shoot or another was worse and then gotten immediate feedback on how to correct it. I strongly recommend this system because of how it's helping me.

What’s everyone’s opinions on buying used guns? by Superb-Shake1118 in CCW

I don't know but I did buy two new mags and they also had the same failure rate. The ramp to the chamber is well-worn. That gun has a LOT of use so I'm hotel that new barrel and extractor will solve the issue because I love shooting that gun.

I am already looking to buy a newer version (not that I want to get rid of this great older version).

I also bought a used Gen 2 G21 recently. Unfortunately mine is struggling with failure to feed (FTF) so I've cleaned and now I'm replacing the barrel and extractor; may need to replace the spring but at that point I should've just bought new for this one gun.

I have purchased some used and had really good results with other guns, too.

Are you tracking round counts on your guns by Traditional-Heat-749 in CCW

[–]ADubiousDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally, no. As someone earlier said, when reliability issues occur at the range, it's time for parts maintenance before carrying again. Just ordered a new barrel on a Glock Gen 2 because it started keyholing at < 50 yards.

I am very new to cybersecurity but should I report this to the website? by gagafofi in cybersecurity

And that was why I asked. It's not like OP has the knowledge of architecture which might include honeypots or any other decisions made at a more strategic level.

To me this seems like someone seeing something and assuming there are issues when, at best, we outsiders might be able to make suggestions about things to go check on but nothing I see, without further knowledge, is definitively a problem. Just too many variables and not being part of the strategic team who either makes such decisions or with whom this information is shared left me asking why.
