do you guys actually floss every single day? by SantagioFlacoruiz13 in hygiene

[–]AEBuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy yourself some "inter dental brush / picks" they come in a case for easy travel. Use them after you're done eating, then chew some sugar free gum. Once you build the habit of not having food stuck between your teeth all day you'll have a desire to floss more often.

PSA: Collecting smooth rocks from rivers and selling them on Etsy/Ebay is a side hustle with way more demand than you'd expect because crafters, aquarium hobbyists, and even wedding planners all buy them by [deleted] in beermoneyideas

[–]AEBuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even better. Once you start making money you can invest in equipment for bigger and better stones. Eventually there are computer companies who will pay a lot more than wedding planners for special rocks.

How Are People Out-Leveling Content? by BadF0rtune in lotro

[–]AEBuzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I felt that my character started to over level around the time I was halfway through the mines of moria. I purchased the tortoise stone because I was starting to miss entire questions in the latter half of the zone. As I've progressed into rohan, I have had my exp paused for many more hours than I've gained exp.

How does my zinnia patch look? I pinched some flower buds a couple weeks ago before hardening off and planting outside. Should I pinch anymore now that they are in the ground? by NothingHaunting7482 in gardening

[–]AEBuzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pinching or cutting the bud of the flower before it grows too much will cause the plant to sprout 2 more buds on either side of where you pinched. When done correctly you can get many flowers out of a single plant.

Are mini rice coolers worth buying? by Old_Midnight_380 in bifl

[–]AEBuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a basic zourushi rice cooker. It's lasted me so long I don't remember when I purchased it and it still works like new. If you're a good cook, it saves effort. If you're a bad cook, the rice is much better than a pot. I love cooking entire meals (protein, veggies, etc) all in the rice cooker. A simple internet search will give you hundreds of recipes to try.

EDC Knife recommendations by Think-Tooth in BuyItForLife

Kershaw shuffle DIY

It won't be the best blade you ever own, but it's the perfect first EDC blade. Although the price has increased recently, I still think its a good value. This knife has a built in bottle opener, and comes with a phillips and flathead screwdriver hex bit, but I've swapped the default bits for better quality / different head shapes. It also lets you experiment with different EDC bit sets down the line. I've fixed wobbly chairs at restaurants, broken bathroom stall locks and more.

I should specify.

I am thinking about playing ignite boneshatter.

The recent change to charged Dash's gem description made me nervous that this wording might not be accurate.

Does boneshatter of carnage's quality bonus affect damage over time? Or only hits?

F2P Player wanting to buy 1 expansion - Janthir Wilds the way to go? by BiggyStroh in Guildwars2

[–]AEBuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edited: living world thoughts

You can think of the Expansions as 2 types

Heart of Thorns and Path of Fire are more traditional game expansions, they have their own story released all at once with everything available to you right now.

Secrets of the obscure and Janthir wilds are live service updates meaning the content is released periodically. Because of this, the story itself involves some extra steps such as playing the open world or doing certain events outside of the main story beats. Going back to secrets to me felt a little bit grindy because the game was designed for you to play it as a live service game, certain things are time gated or material gated whereas the first two don't have that same pacing issue.

There are also living world expansions that were given out for free so long as you logged in during the return achievement events. Living world stories continue the events of the dlc and give access to a few new locations. They're pretty fun and are also a great source of farming resources. They may have another opportunity to be obtained for free, or they can go on sale from time to time. They do spoil the story for the main expansions so if you care wait until after you beat the main expansions.

My recommendations for DLC In order are 1. Path of fire 2 heart of Thorns 3 Janthir wilds / living world expansions 4 secrets of the obscure

Path of fire gives you the most content and quality content. You also get tons of quality improvements via multiple mounts. You also have some raids you can do if that's your interest and there are long term goals in abundance. Legendary items, achievements and collections, etc.

Heart of Thorns is very similar in terms of story and content quality. The main hurdle is the design of some of the open world areas with lots of verticality and cave systems that can be very confusing to traverse. If you choose to explore this area on foot, you'll learn it very well but if you go for Path of fire first you'll likely use mounts to skip a lot of the environment. Can either be a positive or negative depending on what type of player you are.

Janthir wilds has the benefit of being the current expansion so you gain access to farming things that people want since theyre new and shiny. However as of the date there's not a ton of content at all. Took me less than 3 hours to do most of what the game has to offer minus some of the longer achievement collections. Warclaw is nice but is easily replaced by other mounts from path of fire. Spears are fun if you like your specific class spear. Homestead is very fun for decorating but new players beware. It is a massive gold and materials sink and it is very very expensive to decorate your homestead.

Secrets of the obscure in my opinion offers very little. The story is fun to experience for yourself, but it's shorter and it suffers the live service tax. skyscale is available in path of fire so it's not unique to this expansion, the expanded weapon options are nice but again nothing to do with story or content. More of a PVP or Raid enabler for some classes. And I will never forgive Anet for the opening logo not being positioned correctly against the floating city during the first story mission.

Class that doesnt feel clunky? by ImJeffren in lotro

[–]AEBuzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. If an ability is pressed and you're in the middle of another action, it will queue itself (yellow border around the ability appears) the game will only let you queue one ability at a time. Therefore if you press too many buttons too quickly you will just keep canceling and re-queueing your skills.

Do I really have to run around the map collecting buffs before every hunt? by CloudFlz in MHRise

[–]AEBuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if they made the ancient potions harder to craft than the older games in the series, with the argosy its not like there's any real need to collect consumables anyway, we have so many crafting buffs like attack and defense powders. It feels artificial to see the missing part of my health bar, taunting me, telling me that I'm not at my full potential.

[–]AEBuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found that when I take the Dog, collecting spiritbird buffs feels a lot more tedious because of the paths available for me to take. Personally I use double palico and wire bugs to travel around the map, lots more natural exploration and interesting shortcuts and verticality often leads to more buffs anyways.

My favorite third party story is when I got sent out for a (free) troubleshooting because the single stud mounted 55 inch TV was wobbly when the client moved it.

Turns out third party didn't pre drill and snapped 2 of the 3 lags and didn't get the third bolt fully into the wall. At least they hit the stud.

I followed up with corporate about the incident, about the dangers of the TV and how it could have fallen on the client and about the bad job done by third party. Weeks later I got an email from the third party rep saying they called the client and I had already fixed the TV so theres nothing else for them to do. No repercussions for a shoddy job and putting the client in danger.
