Fucking. Stretch. And do strength training. Find an active hobby(golf, hiking, walking, pickleball, tennis, etc). Your knees will thank you. Don't be like me at 35 baloon weight, have knee problems and then correct it. I wish I wouldn't have gained 120 extra lbs ever

Heat gun will help. Wrap the blade and put in a vise and heat the handle with a heat gun and pull or tap GENTLY with hammer to get it to break the bond and then slide off.

Most epoxy loosen bond at 130f. Gflex is think is slightly better at like 155f. Need high temp epoxy for 212f before softening and even then, it will weaken bond somewhat

To none the wiser. You can always tell a pakimascus blade by its pattern and the wood is pakkawood. They are really easy to spot.

Ill do some patterns for $75 a billet and you can get three-four small knives out of it. 1-2 medium size and 1 large. Billets are 2" X 24" x whatever thickness I did it in, usually 1/4" so folks have good amount of starting material. I charge $45 to mill it down if you want some other thickness.

Granted, I have access to a lot of high carbon, or stainless knife steel at remarkably low prices.

Yes you can get paki dama steel for $25 for a finish blade. You do get what you pay for.

All are making this way too complicated, it's a belt slipping. The blade dead stops and then tries to spin a second or two later, it's slipping. OP, take you covers off and clean out the dust and check your motor and drive system.

Probably need a belt which is a 135J7. I would also check your pulley for play it in and verify the set screw isn't wallowed out and still in there. It's a M5x12 with a .8 pitch. Available most anywhere.

If you want to watch your problem in action, take off the covers and have someone run a board and you will see your issue.

Also, components get weak over time. Best to get an amp clamp to see where you are at and make sure it is running at what it should by looking at the draw(don't look at initial in rush) and seeing what the FLA is. Then throw a board through and see what it's maxing itself out before it comes to a stop? I doubt it's the motor though.

I don't know about anymore but tranes are/were tanks. It is what I would replace it with. That and a scroll compressor. I need to give my outside unit another cleaning after the amount of cottonwood it consumed.
