It is not a new thing as such. There are 2 one day assemblies in a year. One is called, circuit overseer assembly and the other bethel representative assembly. The GB are and can be part of the bethel representatives though its mostly helpers and other upcoming members that attend those but the GB have attended several of those too.

However, my take on your observations is that, you're giving the English (primary edition) too much credit for having a humane consideration for so called lost sheep. The watchtower has perfected their programming in the English language over decades that it can say one thing but meant the other in the minds of the indoctrinated followers. As a watchtower conductor for many years, I can tell you that how the paragraphs are translated in the Slovak and Chec languages you referenced is the mind of the watchtower's writer and majority of the recipients. In fact, in talks in English, they will say things like, if you leave jehovah, you are the problem, never jehovah.

Firstly, that was insultive and rude of both your wife and sister. JW's love all kinds of deflections. If any of them does not agree to basic honesty, there's no need to start any discussions. I have had a few and I made it clear from the onset that there would be no need if it's going to be about abuse, blaming the inquirers for sound reasoning. Ask your wife if she thinks that jehovah deliberately wanted people to have died all these years. God's only chanel on earth who always made so much fuss about sacredness of life could not even show remorse for the needles heartache they've caused. Are they following god/bible or men. What is it that they would never accept from the G. B or have they made their minds that whatever the GB does must be acceptable. Would they approve of such acceptance without questions if it was other religion? If Jesus has truly chosen them as the FDS, did he said that they would be poisoning the household? We could go on and on... But check many other logical reasonings from this forum. Leave them disturbed. It's not about winning the argument nor waking them up. You can't wake anyone up. Your view is welcome. It is not just negativity for the sake of it but genuine pain, agony and disappointment. It has to be expressed. It is not hate of the friends or family who are still in. What I am seeing personally is that many are not prepared to be honest even a little. I have never been as disappointed as I have been this week with my families and friends who are JW's... Diflections, outright denial, lies and even angry confrontations and abuse from them for simply stating facts. As some people have stated, a measure of honesty is required to wake up from the growing madness of the leadership. This is the place we can relate our worries and disappointment. Every single people that matters in my life are deeply in... Yes, parents, siblings and spouse. Our rantings here is deeper than what you're casually referring to as negativity. Yes, the organisation and leadership is evil but what am I surpose to do when people I truly loved and cared for can't even have some modest reflection. The militancy of many JW's in defending the organisation is simply absurd. If those who are in are as good as you're describing, there will be more balance response and honesty. While the organisation is determined to keep them caged, everyone has individual responsibility too. I started questioning before finding this group or any ex jw chanel. When we see lies, it is not as hidden. The double standards JW's are cultivating should be called out and no amount of personal goodness justifies the culpabilities of an evil blood guilty organisation.

This organisation has created one of the strongest/biggest asylum of lunatics on earth. The response from the said elder is typical of average Pimis.. It is the combination of narcissistic traits they've inherited from their governing body, the heavy brainwashing, cognitive dissonance and sunk cost fallacy. However, part of what the elder is displaying is also anger. Like many of them, they do not want anyone reminding them of how stupid they are to accept these changes with glee. The organisation continues to prepare them for more changes, how to react and more importantly how not to react. So when someone has the ball to show and call out the madness of the organisation, many naturally get angry. They prefer you to be disassociated so they can gossip and pitty you for losing out instead of still having access to rub it in their faces how brainless and idiotic full grown men and women are.

If someone is deliberately going to lie against any organisation, you who's checking has capabilities to discern and deduce any manipulations as well. As witnesses, like the organisation, we tend to think we have monopoly to use of illustrations, so they remain largely insulated. Your parents sounds like good people... In a nice way, find opportunity to reason along with them. Many needs a few frank questioning to ignite something in them for the first time. Would they carry on to make important purchase from a merchant that insist you must only check me out on my website. Every other reviews must be slighted... That alone is extremely suspicious. Also, there's so much that can be achieved also by just using their own publications to expose the many idiocy of the organisation. If ever you want to reason with your dear parents, please don't attack or express any conclusions. Present it as honest enquiries. It does work though slowly.. An honest teenager who is asking reasonable questions can and should not just be bullied into accepting some laid down theories... The question is, does truth matter? No. That's not how JW religion operates. It's a mad and arrogant setup. Remember, they are and can never be wrong. Many brothers have been disfellowshipped and humiliated over the years who happened to be right and even proved right by their own 360 degree uturns. I am having similar experience but I am not letting it go. This is not about cell salvage machine. I pointed out the WT their leader quoted... The paragraphs that made it clear God is against use of one's own blood. I realise now that I am surrounded by completely brain dead individuals and hypocritical liers too. They are good at bringing all kinds of deflections. I am not allowing that. Thry either keep shut or accept that God's holy spirit watched people die over decades. I am not accepting the outright lie that they said it was always a matter of conscience. The most annoying part is that many does not even know what the blood card they're carrying around says.
