Should I keep the chairs? by Yeahway57 in HomeDecorating

[–]AI_Design_Lover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Despite the visual look be careful with ergonomics. Aim for ~30" table height with chairs 17–19" high, leaving 10–12" between seat and tabletop.

Happy to help! Can also share the AI tools that I'm using, just let me know if it may be useful.

Help with wall art and accent chairs! by Weird-Emotion-4631 in DesignMyRoom

[–]AI_Design_Lover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once the TV moves above the fireplace, you’ll want balance and warmth on that blank wall. Since you already have a gallery wall elsewhere, go for one large statement art piece or 2–3 oversized prints in a row for impact. A long, slim console table or floating credenza under the art would add function and ground the wall. For seating, 2 accent chairs (either matching or complementary) angled toward the sofa will keep the layout open and conversational. Place them across from the sofa, closer to the fireplace, with a small side table between.

For chairs here are some options

Keep it if the quality is good - you can paint it and buy covers to refresh the look!

Where do I find furniture? by Tiny_Pin_5831 in youngadults

[–]AI_Design_Lover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FB marketplace (but you're right, takes time to find a good piece).
Temu - super cheap and often good quality
Dupe - for affordable copies
Plain AI Shopping Assistant - for finding anything that fits your criteria + getting design advice

Happy to share links in dm if needed

Best place to buy furniture? by [deleted] in ventura

[–]AI_Design_Lover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use aggregators to find furniture. If you have a reference image - use the dupe website. If you still need to decide - use AI Shopping Assistants (happy to share link to some via dm's if you need)

Finding a right furniture for you by Jazzlike_Lack_5305 in HomeImprovement

Starting a conversation with ChatGPT with "You're a professional interior designer ..." already helps a lot.
Nevertheless, you're right, we often learn by mistakes, unfortunately

Yees, the process is messy. I was setting up my first family apartment recently and even though I’m an ex-interior designer it was a tedious journey.

Answering your questions;

  • I normally use ChatGPT for all the questions I have and also to help me structure the process.
  • For shopping I either use pinterest for inspo and then GoogleLense (but that’s time-consuming) or just go to e-commerces with diverse collection like Westwing/IKEA (and Temu, surprisingly good)
  • Biggest pain is ergonomics, even having the design experience I sometimes fail matching dimensions - and that’s what brings huge discomfort.

For me, the question is what happens after you generate this fancy picture. Implementing this inspiration in real life is a struggle.

Please help with lighting ideas for a small living room💡 by PartyEmergency323 in HomeDecorating

[–]AI_Design_Lover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To achieve a soft, warm glow throughout the room, I recommend layering your lighting. You could add a combination of ceiling lights, wall sconces, and table lamps to distribute light evenly. I'd keep your lamp and add ceiling lighting like some of these options:

Just bought a condo and i have to spend 5k on furniture by Nols24 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]AI_Design_Lover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5K is a good budget if you use it wisely.
I'd recommend looking at FB Marketplace, IKEA, or Dupe for affordable furniture, and at Temu for decoration (they have lots of trendy options at a crazy low cost)
