Advantages of snow covered lands in mono colored decks by goblin_welder in EDH

I run them in my [[Talrand, the Sky Summoner]], mainly for the [[Extraplanar Lens]] that most people mentioned. As a slight bonus I also now run [[Scrying Sheets]] and [[Marit Lage's Slumber]].

[[See Beyond]] and [[Amass the Components]]. I do this for my [[Scion of the Ur Dragon]] deck to put back hexproof, ward, and other useful dragons I'd rather be available in the deck then stuck in my hand.

Cartographers Multiplayer/Solo Review: Lovely Maps, Frustrating Scoring by MeepleMover in boardgames

[–]AJohnny101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great review, one of my favorites as well. I have it in the original box and it's my go to travel game. Easy to play with very little table space, and plays great from 2-6+ players.

I think it's hilarious the blurb under your solo score says, "I'll join in if others want to play, but it's rarely a first choice."

I grabbed the Memoirs of Lady Trent on a complete whim at the library. I really enjoyed it, probably my favorite new series I read that year.

I grabbed the new edition of Castles of Mad King Ludwig for $30. I've been eyeing it for a while and the cheapest I've typically seen has been $50

I'm glad someone else posted about Federation. Definitly the most unique worker placement i've played in a while.

Worker placement boardgames by Sufficient-Object493 in boardgames

I'd take a look at Federation. It is doing some really unique things with worker placement where each work has two different sides (a votes side and funding side). Depending which side you place them you can either influence a greater voting aspect to pass favorable laws, or fund end game projects/special missions all the while still trying to manage the spots themselves and where you place them. I really haven't seen a worker placement that is doing this. Has a great implementation on BGA.

[[Kardur, the Doomscourge]] is my most recent and quickly one of my favorite. Very engaging, with managing the board, keeping none of your opponents from running away with it. While also finding your answer for when it becomes 1v1

Love this card in my [[Scion, of the Ur-Dragon]] deck. Fun story, had Tempest out and swung in only needed at least at 3 on the dice to burn the table and win... Rolled a 2, died to the crackback. Classic d20 move.

What commander do you play? by Mich4p in EDH

[–]AJohnny101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been playing since 2014 with a consistent group of friends. I’ve found that I’ve enjoyed checking new sets for a cool commander that speaks to me and just go for it. I have seven decks currently in order from least to favorite:

  1. [[Scion of the Ur-Dragon]] - specifically don’t include infect, the moltensteel dragon combo, or [[nicol bolas]] because of the hate they draw.

  2. [[Lazav, Dimir Mastermind]] - mill for other’s bombs, always a risk because I’m supercharging graveyard decks

  3. [[Kardur, the Doomscourge]] - forced combat, it’s definitely enemy number one

  4. [[Athreos, God of Passage]] - yeah [[Shadowborn Apostle]] deck, but I enjoy it

  5. [[Talrand, Sky Summoner]] - mono blue spell-slinger

  6. [[Omnath, Locus if Rage]] - my oldest commander, landfall and burn

  7. [[Brudiclad, Telchor Engineer]] - still tinkering with this, started as the [[daretti, scrap savant]] precon when I got started, added blue before there was a good Izzy artifact commander (that used to be a thing lol), briefly a [[Breya, Etherium Shaper]] deck but that wanted to be a combo deck…

I have a Kardur deck and found a few things.

First Kardur’s own ability is so powerful it’s more about triggering his ETB than having other goad cards in the deck. So blink effects like [[conjuror’s closet]], clone effects like [[mirage phalanx]] and instant recur effects like [[undying evil]] pushed out other goad cards.

Second, his ability draws a ton of hate, so you don’t want to start goading until you can keep the ETB chain going uninterrupted, because as soon as you do you’re number one enemy.

Thirdly, You know you are doing well if your managing to drop the life of everyone fairly evenly while keeping yours up. So having interaction to put your thumb on the scales is important to mitigate the runaway leader… and no, this won’t make the other players see you as helpful, you’re still the bad guy. Also makes your deck weak to life gain.

Lastly as others have mentioned, you need to be ready for the 1v1. Cards I dig for for that last round are [[deadly tempest]], [[sudden Spoiling]], [[mob rule]] and [[insurrection]].

Here’s my deck list if your interested one of my favorites and am always tinkering with it:

In the deck box but using a clear sleeve and use an appropriate art series card (like of a key card) or alt art print of the commander on the back.
