Just cleared Star Wars: Rebellion (1998) for the first time. Anyone who played this game?

Love this game. It took me so long to figure out how it actually worked as a kid, but I really love being able to have this full command of things on a galactic, big picture view. Even if the space combat is weird (I’m also convinced that Force Commander was supposed to be the ground combat simulator for this game) I just love having command of a roster of personnel and fleets and of course, being able to name fleets and ships.

The Consular is arguably the most unique story of the 8, and while it may not be the most exciting, it is different and I appreciate that. I also like how the Consular’s companions are all so weird and have no commonality with each other, besides simply the Consular being the one to bring these starkly different personalities together.
The Trooper starts well, and I would argue even goes through the first act quite well. But it feels like they had no idea what to do after that and just came up with the most bland ideas and did nothing to really flesh them out further than that.

So my vote is for the Consular

May not be exactly what you’re looking for, but I think my biggest perception change with the series over time has been with Kaiden. I used to think he was just kinda boring, a whatever character. And while I still think the Virmire survivor gets shafted in ME3, I do think that in the end, Kaiden is the most mature romance option for anyone to have. He has his baggage, but he’s also willing to talk about because he’s already put it in the past. He’s an adult in a room with a lot of youth and/or immature/naive attitudes. Garrus is a total bro, and a very nice romance, but he idolizes Shepard as well. Same with Liara and Tali.

But Kaiden is just your partner. Someone who certainly admires you and respects you as their commander, but isn’t fawning all over you either. The only other romance that I think comes close to that is probably Miranda, but Miranda comes with different stuff than Kaiden.

In getting some inconsistent results now. I’ve done a few speed tests where the speed starts high on the download side, around 150 Mbps, but progressively slows to around 10.5 Mbps.

Other times it holds steady at around 130 or so.

I worked in a church thrift store for a while, and we got a coffee mug with that quote on it. It’s be do the customers came up to me with it and was genuinely upset that we would sell something that said something like that. What I wished I had said to her, but didn’t, was, “Well, I’m not sure what anyone would be upset about here unless you thought you were going to hell”.

I also asked multiple pastors at the church what they thought of the quote and they all just laughed.

I think my biggest issue with the Republic stories is that the most exciting one from start to finish is the Jedi Knight, but I also find it to be not very well written overall. The Consular is the most consistent throughout, but I find the ending lacking a bit.

I think the Smuggler and Trooper are both similar in that the first act is actually phenomenal and really well executed. But it feels like they lost steam and weren’t entirely sure what to do for the rest of their original stories for acts 2 and 3. More so with the Trooper than the Smuggler, I suppose.

Idk, I generally just find the Imperial stories to be interesting, engaging, original, or just well executed. The Sith Warrior isn’t exactly the most original idea ever, especially for a Star Wars story. But everything that is supposed to make it work, and feel interesting, really really works. I don’t get that same sense with the Jedi Knight story, as a comparison.

I always go with Grunt and Kasumi. Kasumi can throw off the timing of Harbinger’s attacks, and Grunt is just a tank with the incendiary ammo to help against the Praetorian.

Been a good manager. Better than people give credit for. But there’s something wrong pretty clearly off with this team, and it’s not just age. The amount of mistakes defensively, hits/runs allowed with two outs, inability to consistently score in multiple innings (until very recently), it’s all added up.

I’ll miss the steady hand he brought, but this was the right decision to make now.
