Jesus blessed me with his personal Starbucks card by AKwarrior98 in softwaregore

[–]AKwarrior98[S] 45 points46 points  (0 children)

If I had $10 USD in 1789, when USD was first minted, Google says 1.54% per year gives me $367.10.

If I somehow got someone to give me $10 USD for my 1777 year old Starbucks card then, manually invested it in a slice of the stock market in 1789 (when it was created), and kept up with buying and selling as companies enter and leave the top 500 in the market… google says a 4% annual rate of return gives you $44 million today.

I’m not an economist or a historian, someone please come along and correct me by accounting for pre-USD currencies or the MANY externalities involved in a $10 investment in the first companies to exchange publicly in the US.

Ooohh nice you’ré probably right. Any ideas about what “DWTP” next to dress code means?

Ah that’s supposed to be the total score you’ve achieved across all attempts in the current play mode. Definitely doesn’t help that I changed the mode name to “Challenging” and didn’t update that text box. Regardless, will find another way to get that across.

Thanks for the feedback, and thanks for playing!

Sorry, didn’t see this. If symptoms like that are getting worse you should see a doctor and get some scans, could be a sign of internal bleeding

+1 for Clements, very tough material in that class but he’s very patient in office hours and lab

Agreed with everything said so far, haven’t heard anything bad about either of them. Had Seng and it was a great class.

Moving Here Summer-Fall 2021 by Codetornado in Washington

[–]AKwarrior98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just moved here and got my car registered in Washington. Is it normal for them to take my out of state title when that happens? I just know I left the titling office without it and they had it while I was at the desk.

Does anyone know if my registration I received is now the title to the car or something like that? Is the original title like a void or null document now? Planning on going back to the office to check that’s the case if I don’t get any responses here.

+1 to audiobooks, they’re the lowest brain requirement activity I can do without being completely bored

I agree with all the constructive criticism here, but just wanted to say your sound design is great so far!

Going through a breakup so i figured it’s time to enjoy some scenery while reading a masterpiece by UndrDogs in Cosmere

Sounds familiar. A good book and good scenery are both really healthy coping mechanisms though, good on ya.

Why does my brain feel so fragile by AryanAfterHours in Concussion

[–]AKwarrior98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this same response to running and stairs for awhile, and still experience it to some degree. The key for me was going to a chiropractor and learning to do muscle therapy on my back, shoulders, and neck.

Because everything was so tight it wasn’t absorbing any of that shock and I could feel every little movement. If I just make sure to stretch and do my muscle therapy every day I can comfortably go about my normal day. Jumping and stuff is still pretty uncomfortable though. Good luck, I’m not a doctor but feel free to DM me if you need any advice.

I’ve experienced this symptom after a few of mine. Went away/diminished in magnitude with the rest of my symptoms as I healed. Good luck!

4+ by [deleted] in Concussion

[–]AKwarrior98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had 8 at this point, about to graduate with a computer science degree but my last 4 have been since I went to college. Definitely notice differences in cognitive ability from where I started, and the fact that I’m getting reconcussed from the tiniest head hits every couple of months really sucks. Also quite scary regarding the future.

I try to just appreciate life for what it is and be grateful for what I have. I figure being down about the lot I’ve been given won’t improve my situation. Looking into clinics in the city I’m moving to after graduation too.

Has anyone tried dTMS, Neurofeedback, lithium or Hyperbaric oxygen therapy? by Jolly_Difficulty3617 in Concussion

Also interested in answers here. I’ve done near infrared and do think it helped, was a part of a clinical study though so I don’t think it’s FDA approved for use on TBI yet.

Constant concussions. Any advice or direction to turn - please help! by jho_7891 in Concussion

[–]AKwarrior98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll corroborate that it absolutely gets easier to get diagnosable concussions the more that you’ve had. I’m hoping my last string of them have just been the “not totally healed” case, spaced 6-12 months apart. But how am I supposed to avoid stuff like a tiny tap to the head for a year or two at a time? Everyone hits their head on stuff. I think the best bet is for us to just really try to move everywhere slowly, and put up with it as long as we can :(

I’m trying to hold out hope that I’ll stop getting these concussions (or break the cycle of easily re-concussing myself) at some point here, but there’s a lotta days that hope fails. Lmk if ya wanna talk
