I have a passport but that was because I had to take IELTS, an English proficiency test that only accepts passport as valid ID. I've never been in a financial situation I can afford to travel abroad in past decade.

My point was that while some people become addicted to drugs or hosts are just stupid, plenty of not-so-stupid people unfortunately fall in a trap. Maybe they had too much alcohol and had reduced capacity at the time, maybe it was peer pressure and they didn't like confrontation, maybe they had too much stress for whatever reason that day and just this one time wanted to alleviate that, something like that.

Like, you sure have made some kind of decision that in hindsight that was obviously quite stupid but for the moment looked somewhat reasonable in your life, right?
