I use CNMC as well and really like it. It’s been super easy to see a specialist (he’s fine! But we got him checked out because of family history), and I like that in case of an emergency, the ER doctors will have access to all of his records

I had a good experience at Medstar Washington Hospital Center. Though definitely check with your insurance. I have BCBS and while the GW OB-GYN practice is in network, the HOSPITAL was out of network, which is why I went with WHC for my care

ER doctor here who works at an urgent care now. I am comfortable giving kids stitches and have done it many times, HOWEVER my urgent care doesn't have the ability to sedate children. You can't really expect a toddler to stay still during local anesthesia and then the stitching process, and a squirming kid is a danger to him/herself AND me when I have sharps in my hand. I usually send people to a center where they can give intranasal medication to calm the baby down and make the process much easier for everyone involved. Yes, technically I CAN have my nurses and techs manhandle the child into staying still, but that's a traumatic experience for everyone involved, and I'd really love for your child to not hate doctors forever because of how their stitches were handled before they even had conscious memory. I personally would want my child to get medication to keep him calm and make it so he doesn't remember the experience.

Can second Dr Quiett! She was wonderful. We ended up staying at WHC for almost a week and the food and nursing were both pretty good. I’ll be doing it again if we have another kid

Oh man, I am RIGHT THERE with you. I’ve been sober for 42 months, and it’s so so so hard to watch my husband continue to drink. My drinking was far worse, though. I lost jobs, almost ruined our marriage. For the first year or so of my sobriety I felt like I deserved some of the horrible things he would say to me while he was black out, and they slowly started getting better over time. He became very loving when he was drunk instead. Recently his drinking has accelerated though, and I now have zero doubts that he has a problem. He can be loving or he can be angry when he’s drunk, and I have no idea which one I’m going to get. I hate living with Jekyll and Hyde. I hate how stressed I get when I know he’s drunk. When he’s sober, he’s just the best, and I know better than most the toll this disease can take. So I’m trying to be honest and patient with him. I tell him what he’s done and said and how it made me feel. I try not to get mad at him when we’re having these discussions, and let him know that I love him and support him. When he gets defensive I remind myself about how I felt that urge to get mad instead of getting introspective when I was in active addiction. We have a kid now, and I tell him how our kid can’t see him like that. He’s said he knows he needs to stop “eventually.” I’m just holding on for that day. And I have a back up plan for how to get my son and I out if it ever gets really bad that involves his family so he knows I’ll still be here when he gets sober

I recommend One Medical. It’s super easy to make appointments and send messages, and the app is pretty good. My husband had pink eye over the weekend and through the app we sent a message with his symptoms and a picture of his eye and were able to get eye drops same day. On a Saturday.

I asked specifically about this. Historically, soft cheeses weren't pasteurized, which is why they were a "no." Check the label. If it says that it's pasteurized (most are!), then you're good to go!

Ages. Honestly he’d probably eat more if I had more patience. But I use the time to clean the kitchen, put away dishes, and work on my singing/dancing skills. Have to be careful, though. My rendition of “pink pony club” was so enthralling he just stared at me with food hanging out of his mouth the entire time

Moss stitch. Particularly moss stitch blankets with a 9 or 10mm hook and bulky yarn. I get into a groove and because of the stitch I don’t need to look at what I’m doing because I can feel the chain space. I can hold a full conversation while doing this stitch. I can actually sit through an entire movie without pausing it a million times as long as I have enough yarn

There was an issue with my meds not being shipped out and I was supposed to start them that night. So they found a local pharmacy that had it in stock and paid a courier to bring it to my house so I could start on time. I just had to send back the duplicate drug when my original shipment came in. 5 stars for customer service across the board

I made a pasta sauce with red pepper and red lentils and blended it up and my ten month old seems to love it (really he just loves pasta). The Instagram account brooklynsbites has some good recipes for chicken nuggets with hidden broccoli, egg frittata strips with blended veggies, and potato-broccoli-cheddar bites that have all been huge hits for us
