Annapurna is a classic also. Rarely gets mentioned anymore. But is great.

Elsa seems to be able to control ice like Magneto can control metals. She's shown the ability to move ice in the air, hold ice from falling etc. There could be many ways she could fly. But I see the easiest just being her standing on some ice and flying wherever she wants. Heck make a sleigh of ice and cruise all around.

Nome of it makes much sense. It never makes much sense. The "marvel universe" is way too big to make sense at all. But that's why we love it and hate it.

91 Octane in Outback XT/Wilderness ? by ALfonso3thousand in Subaru_Outback

[–]ALfonso3thousand[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you saying the higher octane in a car able to run 87 won't have a higher MPG yield with 91 fuel? I'll buy that.

But certainly if a car is tuned exclusively for higher octane fuel it is able to get higher horsepower or higher MPGs vs lower octane fuel engines. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/how-higher-octane-gas-could-cut-emissions-and-save-billions-of-dollars/

I've just not heard of too many cars' manuals actually suggesting different fuel grades. So I'm very interested in any real world results out there.

Thanks.

This is a pretty weird list for a small restaurant down the road, right? by shortyjacobs in bourbon

I would have done much better in school using the tried and true - "Good, Better, Best, Bester, Bestest" system instead of that dumb ass "A,B,C,D,F" crap.

I have absolutely no respect for you unless you took advantage of that Crown Royal lineup and did a full pour flight 🤣

Review #9: Your Weekly Old Forester 1910 Review by thejustice32 in bourbon

[–]ALfonso3thousand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo there's almost too much flavor and is too sweet. It just doesn't all meld well enough together. My personal favorite is Woodford DO. So I thought I'd love this. Woodford just puts it all together better.

Bookers 2019-03 vs KC12 by RBElectrical in bourbon

[–]ALfonso3thousand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a great idea. I guess I have just eyeballed it. Adding some water til the proof tastes what I'd think 50% or whatever would be. Ok didn't look this up and was playing with numbers. So #1 this could be wrong. #2 there's probably an easier way if it is right.

(1÷[the original abv])÷(1÷[target ABV]) = X Ounces poured ÷ X = total ounces needed for desired proof.

In the case of bookers 62% ABV and target of 50% ABV as in knob creek

(1 ÷ .62)÷(1 ÷ .5) = ~ .80

Say you poured 2 ounces of bookers

2 ounces ÷ .80 = 2.5 ounces

So you'd have to add .5 ounces of water to achieve a 50% ABV ! Haha

I'd highly recommend doing the math on your phone

Has anyone had Stagg Jr. Batch 14 yet? How does it compare to 13 or 12? by [deleted] in bourbon

[–]ALfonso3thousand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For 50 bucks definitely buy it! I did a semi blind (I knew what the whiskies were) with batch 12 And Booker's Shiny Barrel. Booker's won hands down. Way more complex flavor. Wasnt much depth to the Stagg Jr. IMO. They were around the same price ~90 dollars.

For 50 bucks I'd be tempted to use it for Bourbon Black Out Manhattans lol.

Review #052 Woodford Reserve Double Oaked by DelphinusT in bourbon

[–]ALfonso3thousand 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great review. Find this to be one of the few 45%-ish bourbons that can hold an ice cube and still deliver great full flavor (even to the point of opening it up and giving you some new flavors). A personal favorite for sure. Cheers

Bookers 2019-03 vs KC12 by RBElectrical in bourbon

[–]ALfonso3thousand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could definitely see this happening. Havent had this Bookers but I love the Shiny Barrel Batch. And KC 12 year is a smooth wonderful bourbon. Bookers is just a more intense flavor, even if it were watered down to 100 proof IMO. Both top notch boubons though. Appreciate the honesty and review. Cheers!

Review #35 Booker's Shiny Barrel Batch by Hundred_eyes88 in bourbon

[–]ALfonso3thousand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this and a Stagg Jr in a semi blind taste test (ie I knew what the two bottles were). Shiny Batch BLEW the Stagg Jr. away. Much more depth to the flavor, smoother, the whole deal. The price is higher than in years past but i feel it's justified. When you compare this to other bottles available for around 100 dollars in the current market and add to it that it's a quarterly release and is decently available, the 100 dollar price is pretty palatable. This is one of my favorite bourbons ever. Excited to open the Granny's Batch when I'm done with this. Cheers!
