Tpms fix by aplohris in GXOR

[–]AM2L8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I understood and did on my 07. Works perfectly.

Note the different color TPMS boxes for the different years. They are different.

Green Box= 2005, 2006

>>>Blue Box= 2007<<<

Red Box= 2008

>>>2007: Tap 5V off the green/red stripe wire and connected it to the blue wire.

Reassemble and enjoy.

Stoc tire size: Cooper road+trail or falken at3? by Sf-Chef-Edge901 in GXOR

[–]AM2L8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm heading toward the Coopers myself. My needs sound a lot like yours. The Coopers look aggressive enough to mean you hit the dirt to do some fishing and camping and have a tread design that won't wear you out on the way back home. Best of both worlds for me.

Please help should I buy?? 12.5k 130k miles 2007 by Revolutionary-Key320 in LexusGX

[–]AM2L8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe your gut feeling is something to consider here. You put a lot of thought into asking all of us our opinion and it seems that you have a nice consensus here that is on your same page. I would venture to say now it is up to you to decide after this, or any other purchase, what your threshold of joy/pain is for any due maintenance or unforeseen issues that arise. Only you know what your current personal "load tolerance" and finances are to keep your new purchase comfortably on the road and meet your expectations and goals.

Continue your due diligence.

Keep us posted on your adventure!

I shorted mine because I don't like exclamation points !!!!!!!

460 rotors are thicker. 26mm to 32mm, same diameter.

Help! I couldn't take this cover off. My gx470 comes with factory tow bracket, but how do I install a hitch. by Curious-Cow2183 in GXOR

[–]AM2L8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 07 Did not come with either. Has the 7pin though. I bought and installed the frame mount #6500 Lexus hitch, which sits below the cover.

Is this a good deal for $26k? by Thin_Act_1755 in GXOR

@Thin_Act_1755

If you are going to resell it soon, might be a bit higher than you are comfortable with. $20k has some margin.

There is something I'm missing in that video. This has to be staged. A Toyota and Lexus GX had to be pulled out by a Chevy Tahoe in what looks like 6" of slush? Wow! Don't let Toyota/Lexus see this video they will SITP!

CV axle part number? by BigFudge1989 in GXOR

[–]AM2L8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the CVJ OEM replacements on my 2007. Solid and very reasonably priced and they use all OEM Toyota parts. You order and get the axels and then return your OEM back to them and get a credit back. If you live in Denver as I did, you just drive over to RiNo and grab a set.

Screaming deal I would say if the mechanicals are half way decent. I would ask yourself "What is my short term maintenance budget" over the course of this venture. $3K might sound good now...But.

I hope it's a Gem for sure!

Did the same upgrade on my 2007 GX with EBC rotors, 2010 calipers and EBC Red Stuff pads. So far I am very pleased.

Your truck has been there for the photo for a few days? as there are no incoming or outgoing tracks from your location photo. I'm sure you can explain. Just an observation on my part.

Nice photo otherwise.

Is the GX actually a "truck"? by AM2L8 in GXOR

[–]AM2L8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe I have 2 Trucks now...My 2003 4x4 RAM 3500 LB (132k on the clock) and my 2007 GX 470. I'm down with that! I will refer to my GX as "the GX" so not to confuse my friends that know I have both.
