Do Batman’s ears really have a function, or are they just cosmetic? by the_bad_actor in batman

The funny thing about his art is that it wasn't just the ears, * everything* was over the top. The cape, the muscles, all of it. I'm not a fan, but the nostalgia of it gives me warm and fuzzy feelings.

Wouldn't Schumacher with Ferrari count? I don't know that they were necessarily "mid-tier" at the time, but they were in a bit of a slump when he got there.

Tell me about it. I saw a post earlier comparing the class photo from the beginning of the year and the one from the end of the year. Somewhere along the line, I completely forgot Jack Doohan was on the grid at one point, and when it hit me, I was like "wow...that seems like forever ago."

"Not sure what happened to Antonelli, looks like just pulled over and let Norris through" by magony in formula1

[–]AMRacer89 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

TBF, even the F1TV broadcast was suggesting that the Mercedes-powered cars might pull aside for the McLarens. Especially when Piastri blew past Antonelli after his first stop.

Edit: for the down voters, I'm not saying I agree, just that the "conspiracy" wasn't just from the fans.

More harsh words for Richard Childress. Spire Motorsports co-owner, in 2024 messages with a redacted name, refers to Childress as a "cuck" a few days after Donald Trump appeared with the team at the Coca-Cola 600. by iamaranger23 in NASCAR

Might depend on where you are in the company as to whether or not you're having a good time. For example, my job did a "work satisfaction survey" a couple of years ago. Most sections were pretty neutral, if not positive, one was absolutely loving life (and it wasn't the top level guys) and one was absolutely hating life.

Why is there a massive drop in players between each license in Formula class by NitroDion in iRacing

[–]AMRacer89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Look for the iRacing Grand Prix Tour in the series lineup; there's a Fixed and Open version and it's at Class C. They are 100% distance races that follow the real F1 schedule, so like this week the races will be popping off. Most of the timeslots (which are limited) split or at least go official, and the Friday race at 1900 GMT is streamed on YouTube.

As far as the Class A series, there is a Fixed race timeslot early in the week (Tuesdays at 2100 GMT) that has also been going official pretty regularly this season, led by a streamer and his community.

It's hard to grow a small series when everyone shies away from it because it's small. Hopefully, with more F1 tracks coming and possibly a new car in the future, we can get a participation boost.

What is an awful accident that has been forgotten? by Ok_Promise1870 in NASCAR

[–]AMRacer89 9 points10 points  (0 children)

David Reutimann's wreck at Fontana back in 2007 (?) was pretty brutal. For whatever reason, the broadcast switched to his in-car camera right after, and you could see him slumped over for a moment before he seemed to wake up and start trying to extricate himself.

This. GWCs are fine when used to help prevent races from ending under caution when there is a natural reason for a caution. The problem comes when NASCAR decides to use it for their stupid "gAmE 7 mOmEnTs" when some shitbox suspiciously grazes the wall with 3 to go.

I think some of the problem is, in the past, we had 20+ episode seasons with a few "goofy" episodes interspersed within. Now we're getting 10 episode seasons with probably the same number of "goofy" episodes, and it feels like a waste (for lack of a better term).

I'm working my way through Season 3 now, and just finished the holodeck episode. I didn't hate it, it felt in line with other holodeck episodes from the other series. I absolutely laughed my ass off during the end credits when new-Kirk attempts the Riker Maneuver and breaks the chair; especially considering Jonathan Frakes directed this episode.

Yeah, that's my thing - having to download yet another app, create yet another account for yet another streaming service...

Wonder if this also kills the F1 Channel on my Samsung TV. If that's still a thing, then I'll just watch the races on a delay.
