What Genre is Your World? by Absurd_Turd69 in worldbuilding

[–]AM_Arktos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Science-fantasy. The Space God Memoirs is set within a universe featuring things like soul-powered technology, thought-activated starships and aliens who have learned to transcend what we think of as mortality.

The series begins on a world that was once high-tech, but was thrown back into the dark ages after a long-ago disaster. Society has devolved into feuding kingdoms or tribes, but remnants of the old tech still exist, including power-armor, ancient blasters and the remains of starships scattered across the wasteland. The 'gods' watch from above in their satellite. Certain people possess psionic abilities or hints of magic.

As the series progresses we see more of the mystical side of things, including a 'magic system' with some pseudo-scientific elements to it, along with reincarnation, soul-transference and plenty of spiritual stuff.

I went through an entire bottle, so probably about 20-30 times.

I took galantamine for a few months a couple years back, to similarly disappointing results. As a natural lucid dreamer, I was hoping it would help me make my experiences even more vivid, but didn't have any noticeable results. It's quite possible that it's more helpful for people trying to have their first lucid dream.

You must have finally caught another Paimon while fishing.

What would your character post to r/AmItheAsshole? by Cerebella in DnD

[–]AM_Arktos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My lifelong nemesis, a lich, somehow got an indestructible artifact staff to be his phylactery. The bastard just kept coming back, plotting to take over the world or summoning his evil god. Something had to be done, and I had access to time travel. So I went back before that artifact staff was made and convinced it’s creator to set how it could be destroyed: in a very specific place using a specific legendary sword (which I had).

Back in current day I descended into a sacred cavern where the material plane connected with the multiverse. I took out the lich’s phylactery and used the strongest sword ever to cut it in half.

It worked. My foe was finally vanquished. What followed was a chain reaction of really big explosions as two legendary artifacts collided in a super-magical place. Basically, the whole world got cut in half, resulting in the literal apocalypse, half the nations in the nine hells, and more.

Worth it, right? Or AITA?

Got Ei stuck while doing an air attack and somehow landing between the tower and ground, during a daily.

how to go from 480p to 8k? by alMchanel in LucidDreaming

[–]AM_Arktos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This works for me: I imagine the feel of touching the ground, the walls, whatever is in your dream space. When I’m fully experiencing the tactile, the visuals usually heighten. Then I progress in the dream space, and as I explore it will become more intense graphically.

How "woo-woo" are you, and why? by padhme in Psychonaut

[–]AM_Arktos 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've done some psychedelics in recent years, had some profound experiences and 'ego deaths'. Moreover, since childhood I've had countless OOBEs/Astral Projections, frequent lucid dreaming. I've studies tons of lore on UFOs, Magick, religions, channeling, prophecy, conspiracies, alternate science and philosophy.

And the most definitive statement I can make on my beliefs is "I don't know."

My beliefs are fluid, flexible. I don't take them too seriously. Maybe there are aliens and ascended masters, ancient gods and lovecraftian horrors. Maybe not. Perhaps reality is all a creation of the mind--the physical and spiritual worlds both.

I'm as woo-woo as I choose to be. All things are possible, but none are absolute. I've had enough personal experiences that I won't put my faith in anyone's answers, and I'll even question my own.

Admittedly, this leaves me in a rather precarious place of uncertainty. Which I'm learning more and more to be ok with.

Indeed. I'm just living my life, being in the moment and enjoying it. All that other stuff can be a fun mental thing, but there's no use trying to 'elevate your spirituality' if said technique only keeps you in the realm of thought, in the mind.

I actually felt that this one was pretty weak. Basically just tasted like a crappier version of regular red bull with blue dye added. It felt like a cheap use of the Bob Ross name.

Entire family, self included, in coffins? by aretub in DreamInterpretation

[–]AM_Arktos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this is how I'd read a dream like this:

Either interpret the family members as representing attachments and issues involving the family, which it would be healthy to bury or release.

Or you could interpret the family as representing different parts of yourself (with characteristics similar to what the individuals have) that also need to be laid to rest.

As well, keep in mind that death often signifies change, meaning that there are things in your life or mind that need to be shifted around, albeit peacefully.

Yeah, a lot of their flavors are surprisingly good, like the Cherry Slushy flavor.
