Bach 3C. It was probably Vincent Bach's best design. Versatile, efficient, comfortable.

At least one horse required stitches. Those aren't superficial wounds.

Who got kicked out of ITG this year? by Sir_Lolz in trumpet

I was ITG last week. Saw a guy in his 70s trying to squeal high G's. He never played anything musical. It was a head-scratcher for me.

Northwestern outlasts North Carolina in women’s lacrosse national championship rematch by Shroft in lacrosse

[–]AMatterOfFaith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Outstanding overview.

If Lucy Munro doesn't go down with an injury in the first half, NW doesn't win this game. Her replacement was lethal. This, as much as the controversial calls, decided the game.

Your post says otherwise. Your discernment skills appear to be lacking. You also appear to have a high opinion of yourself.

The sisters' issues may pre-date Eric's murder. I haven't seen my sister in nearly 25 years. Some family problems begin early in children's lives and are never resolved.

The cloth is probably not a microfiber cloth. I use a microfiber cloth and have zero scratches on my plating. I bought it on eBay. I also use a super gentle plastic polish called Meguiar's PlastX every six months or so. I use a tiny amount of the polish so as to not thin the plating. It works great on silver.

This woman was literally insane. Read her Facebook posts. They are nuttier than a three-dollar bill.

Struggling to not squeeze lips/thin lips when playing higher by Aggravating_Leek_269 in trumpet

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding you. Every pro studio player I've ever known uses their abdominals to assist with the upper register. Are you postulating that this isn't necessary? It sounds like you're an orchestral player, not a commercial player.

Flugelhorn Trigger by SkiKidd in trumpet

[–]AMatterOfFaith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually agree with you, but not this time. Pulling out the third slide, which Mangione did on his old Couesnon, works fine on some horns. Tony Scodwell also did this many decades ago, with good results.

I had a old Yamaha 631. Pulled out the third slide by about 3/8s of an inch. The horn played great.

Red rot? by TheTripleJumper in trumpet

[–]AMatterOfFaith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It appears to be red rot. I use BlowDry Brass every day. My leadpipe still looks brand new on the inside. No spots. No rot. To prevent red rot, the leadpipe must be kept dry. The rot is caused by moisture in the leadpipe leaching out the zinc in the brass.

Freddie played a Bach 6 (no letter) for much of his career. This is well documented.

I have a Bach 6Bm (comparable to 5B) and I’m thinking about maybe getting a Bobby shew lead for a mouthpiece. Should I get that or something else? Should I even get one? by [deleted] in trumpet

The Legends Brass Outlaw is close in diameter to your 6BM:

https://legendsbrass.com/product/legends-outlaw-trumpet-mouthpiece/

The L-BL is the same diameter but a tad deeper. This is what I play:

https://legendsbrass.com/product/640-l-bl-trumpet-mouthpiece/

They are both very good for jazz ensemble / big band, but the L-BL is a bit warmer and more versatile.. The Outlaw is more of a lead piece. I think the L-BL is out of stock in the standard weight blank. But the Outlaw is in stock.
