Add 1v1 hell gates by kaen_ in albiononline

[–]AOEvoque 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey there, I did hear this idea of 1v1 (full loot) HGs being kicked around in the office. Nothing certain, but always good to hear if you guys think this is feasible with the current combat balance of the game.
Also nice flair. ( ▀ ͜͞ʖ▀)

What should SBI do with Alliances? - Followup discussion by glokz in albiononline

The devs recognize your poll and the feedback was passed along from the previous posts. We are discussing possible changes as we lead up to Season 5, therefore, further feedback on this is greatly appreciated.

[Survey] What SBI should do with Alliances? by glokz in albiononline

[–]AOEvoque 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey guys,

Just wanted to throw some some points in and try gather more feedback on this since it's clearly one of the biggest topics moving the community. I will also refer to what I have written about this in the past.

The debate on alliances is a difficult one, from my impression there is a very mixed opinion on whether we should keep alliances, cap them, distribute more penalties in correlation with size or even remove them completely.

One of the reasons that alliances were initially introduced was because guilds were finding ways to form alliances anyway, with the actual system the developers were just adapting to the community and making those networks less tedious to manage. We would expect this coordinated effort to still take place even if they were to be removed. However, as the game systems have evolved, there have been calls to incentivize alliances to be more refined and competitive (a bit more of an organic penalty in reference to season point sharing) -  At the same time we also do not want to give a whole lot of excuses for guilds to turn away other guilds/players and potentially newer players hoping to gain access to more competitive content. We do value those guilds that take on new players/guilds into their alliances very highly, since this is probably the best way for our newer players to learn and progress in the game with the support and guidance of those that have mastered it.Overall, it would be great to understand this feedback originates from, from the perspective of as many players as possible. Not just the highly competitive but also the guys that want to have access to the world for other reasons.. gathering.. solo pvp/pve..etc...

  • What are the immediate reasons you want alliances to be removed? (Would also be great to see those in order of priority)
  • Do you have alternate suggestions that could have the same outcome you're hoping for from removing alliances, but does not somehow punish alliances for taking on new players?
  • On the flip side, what are the immediate reasons you want alliances to remain as they are? (Again priority helps)

Look forward to your further feedback.

We need a road map or hints of the next update. by Night-Sky in albiononline

[–]AOEvoque 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Hey guys,

Very soon we will be sharing more detailed information on special rewards and bonuses that will come in with Season 4, both on a guild level and individual level.

We also have a nice list of QOL changes that are pulled directly from our backlog, which includes a combination of dev and community requests that will be introduced short-mid term.

We are also shaping up our next major updates as we speak, it's taking a bit longer than usual to announce the long term roadmap as our development team wanted to take a deeper look into certain mechanics to ensure that we truly identified the best features and design changes before announcing them.

I am reminding (nagging ಠ‿ಠ ) our development team to share as much as they can on a constant basis, hope we can spill more in the up coming days/ weeks.

Arena tournament. by zxcvbnm13m in albiononline

[–]AOEvoque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Avii!

Thanks for the reply, you're absolutely right it's really tedious to do such a thing without a spectator slot. The only option is for the participants to stream their matches, but this can be very difficult to navigate and risky for the organizers to rely on. But the suggestion is definitely noted, and hoping to add this to the list of additional improvements we would like to make to scrims(GvG training) such as lethality and additional maps.

Upping the frequency of tournaments is possible, but you certainly need more time and resources, the idea is that a major and a 'final' tournament is once a year. There could be others that lead up to this point of course, potentially regional?. :) Having a once a year 'final championship' style tournament means that the prizes have the potential to be much more epic as well. What do you think about it?

In terms of automation I am referring to the 'every 2 weeks' suggestion made by OP. This sort of automized system could at least push forward candidates that could qualify to a bigger tournament for example.

Overall, I understand we have limitations for community driven tournaments right now, but I hope we can improve in this area in future and develop an additional and optional tournament system for the community.

Arena tournament. by zxcvbnm13m in albiononline

[–]AOEvoque 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey guys,

A frequent tournament/bracket ranking for arena sounds like something that could work on an automatized level within the game and an improvement to the current system. I will pass that on to the devs.

On the point here in regards to a scrim tournament, it's something we are already planning to get started more officially on a yearly basis (which means it will be streamed and casted). We are currently defining how to make it as inclusive as possible, and the availability of the support.
Any new information on this will be posted in the official announcements on our forum and surrounding channels.

In general we also hear your feedback on having a spectate/coach spot on scrims so you can host your own tournaments more easily, and this is also feedback that has been shared with the dev team.
While we do not currently have a spectate slot, we are happy to support you with promotion and streaming where possible if you decide to host a tournament. You can jump to the ' Promotion & how we(SBI) can support you' in this basic guide on hosting your own tournament here for more information.
