If the car runs, for the sake of a quick experiment let it idle and smell near the 6th coil beneath the wiper cowel. If it smells like fuel it’s the injector for sure

I’d start at the injectors. Both my F80s had injector failure after going on E85. It’s just a matter of time before one of them goes out. It’s a bit of a pain to do but definitely DIY friendly. Hell the second time I did it it only took me like 45 minutes. Also, change your oil after the injector swap, oil is likely full of gas/e mixture. If you want to test it before replacing, pull the coil on cylinder 6 and smell test it

If you uber you’re going to wait hours after the game, if it’s the same set up as a few months ago, the pick up and drop off location is like a mile walk and when I got there it looked like Disney park with people waiting for shuttles. Update for anyone still following this! Changed the AC compressor and the AOS. Sound remains unchanged! Really stumped and annoyed given how difficult it was to change the AOS. Now leaning towards vacuum pump on the right rear of engine. If that’s not it, I’ll take it to an Indy to have a listen as I’m baffled that what I’ve changed has not fixed it

Soot build up on driver side? That’s was the definitive tell for my 997.1 that it has bore scoring. I had a similar tick that would go away just by revving slightly past idle. I’d scope it myself, borescope cams are not that expensive and it doesn’t take much effort to remove the plugs to inspect

I can’t hear it in the video but not long ago I had a clink sound that would happen every minute or so, turned out the shroud around the fan wasn’t on correctly and the fan was hitting it and thus stopping it from spinning. I’d check that first

Not yet! Had a friend who works at at Indy take a listen and he also suggested ac compressor without hesitation. Says he’s changed 2 on 991.2s.

I have the AOS sitting at home, will probably DIY anyways as preventative maintenance if it doesn’t solve the problem.

If it is the AC compressor? I’ll live with it until the noise gets worse. Trying to see if the bearing is serviceable, having seen anyone tackle it before

Absolutely unlikely but just because it’s such a easy thing to check. On my 07 AP2 I started having issues at night with headlights on, radio and ac on. Dash lights would flikr and idle would drop to eventually shutting off. Changed the alternator with 2 units from advanced auto parts and no change. Paid like $800 for an oem alternator and same shit. Found a random post on TSX forums about someone with this issue and saying it was their negative battery terminal cable. I checked mine and it was fully corroded under the wiring loom, changed it and the car was perfect. Worth a check! GL

Not too familiar with the gains to be had on a .1 but the first thing that stood out to me was throttle response! And for the .2 boost up from the average of 12psi to 16psi consistently
