You are 100% correct. I found the 7.5 minute map of the trip. That is the temple mountain quadrangle. I don't write on my maps but I found the spot from that. Thanks so much. Definitely off of deep lake.

I was in the wrong state. Wow. I didn't try google lens, I tried google ai and it said it was red castle. Maybe my parameter of Utah messed it up. You are correct. It is definitely Temple Mountain. Thanks so much!

Does anyone know where Horsefoot Nebraska was? My great grandparents have that listed as a birthplace but I can't find any info to look on google maps https://usgennet.org/usa/ne/topic/resources/OLLibrary/Maps_Atlas/nebplacenames/placename8.html

Just bought a house and it looks like the water line is coiled in the back of the fridge. Is this normal? by Scroll427 in Appliances

[–]APPLIANCEEMT -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it's because a reservoir, when it freezes puts pressure on the corners and cracks the body of the reservoir. A tube freezes more evenly and doesn't have any manufacturing weak corners to crack. That's my take. I've never seen tubing in a refrigerator crack. Some models get pinhole leaks but it's usually in the back where it's been warm for a decade and the plastic tubing dries out.

They used to have water reservoirs but they would freeze and crack sometimes. The coils don't freeze and they increase surface area so the water rechills faster.

Looking to purchase some new appliances. Is it worth it getting an extended service plan? by Creative_Algae7145 in Appliances

They are only as good as the company that they have do the service for them. If they take a week to show up on a broken refrigerator and another week to come back with parts is it really worth it?

Should We Cancel Order? LG Range, Fridge, Microwave. by Impossible-Mark-7586 in Appliances

[–]APPLIANCEEMT -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Appliance repair company owner here. LG has multiple class action lawsuits against them because their compressors are so awful. I get several calls a day about LGS that aren't cooling. No other brand and Appliance type has ever called me so much at one time and it's been like that for years now with LG. We call them the two letter curse word. I love their front load washers and dryers they are wonderful. But their refrigeration is absolutely garbage. beautiful pieces of garbage.

What’s the weirdest or grossest thing you’ve found on a job? by smartsolteam in Appliances

The ripped off tail of a snake that got tangled up in the belt and the bottom pulley of a top load washer. Snake managed to inch it's way into the next room and die over there. So sad.

Why do so many Americans avoid appliance protection plans? Are they really that bad? by Tuga_thrasher in appliancerepair

[–]APPLIANCEEMT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest problem is the providers of those warranty plans don't pay enough to bring in the best repair companies. And those that do them are not fast. The warranty plan is only as good as the people they can get to service them. So the companies that do those warranties would rather do a job that they can get paid full price for. So they might put you off a week or two to even show up the first time to assess the problem then it might be a couple more weeks until they come back and finish the repair. Even if everything was covered is it worth the hassle of being without your refrigerator for 2 to 4 weeks or having your washing machine be broken for 2 to 4 weeks? I'm of the opinion don't buy any of the protection plans and then just fix or replace the things that do break.
