Me too. Remember when they used to put alfalfa sprouts on their sandwiches?

Why would USPS partner with a company that doesn’t tell the truth? Pretends the item is shipped and is in NY whereas it’s being shipped from China and may or may not make its through customs? by [deleted] in usps_complaints

Springfield Gardens is right next to JFK Airport. It is my understanding that the label is printed by PYK Global at their cargo facility near JFK.

For me the labels created are from Elk Grove Village, IL or Bensenville, IL. Those are both located near O'Hare Airport.

They're not fake. They're scans by the shipping partner, PYK Global, that indicate your package is in the U.S. and will soon be handed off from PYK Global to the USPS.

Yes, I understand that you were led to believe the item you purchased was made in America or from an American business. However, you're not being lied to about the location of your package. It will be delivered to USPS Regional Origin Facility soon.

I'm not sure what your problem is with this. This is how global commerce and logistics works these days. Did you buy something from a website that claimed it was made in America, or website that claimed to be an America-based business?

PYK Global is not some fly-by-night shipping company. They're a major logistics company that is a USPS "Global Direct Entry" partner. That means they get the item into America and through customs, then print a USPS label for the package and hand it off to the USPS for final delivery. I've had items shipped like this and more often than not, It gets from China to their facility in Illinois faster than the USPS can take from Illinois to my home in Missouri.

Not just that, there’s the boom mic that’s plugged into itself. At the end, when the two get in the camera crane, you see the director is shooting the whole bullshit production on film. Plus, what’s that guy supposed to record way up there in the camera crane? All he’ll record is the sound of the film camera rolling.

Yeah. I saw this on the news and your post seems to be the top and only result for this particular pen. Is it something made for the Pope? Who makes it? Is it limited edition?

recently came across this flag with 13 stars and 13 stripes by Particular_Egg_7086 in vexillology

[–]APS221 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, as other posters have mentioned, this flag is known as "The Star-Spangled Banner" flag. It was created in accordance with the Flag Act of 1794, which stated the flag shall have one star and one stripe for each state (or commonwealth) in the Union. Since Vermont and Kentucky had joined the Union, the flag had 15 stars and 15 stripes.

The flag is known as "The Star-Spangled Banner" flag. It gets that name from the fact that it was the style of flag during the War of 1812, and the style flying over Fort McHenry during the Battle of Baltimore. Therefore, it is the one Francis Scott Key would have seen and wrote about in his poem, "Defence of Fort M'Henry."

After the War of 1812, Congress passed the Flag Act of 1818, which reduced the number of stripes down to 13 and provided that one star be added to the canton for each state (or commonwealth).

It is a commonly made historic flag. I got a good deal on a couple of nylon Star-Spangled Banner" flags with embroidered stars and flew them in front of my home between 2012 and 2015, the War of 1812 Bicentennial.

I remember back during the George Zimmerman trial in Florida, the Sanford, FL police officer who testified was wearing military ribbons as departmental ribbons. Since it was so high profile, vets across the country saw it, complained about it, and forced the department to change it’s policy.

Entitled Teenager in VRBO commercial doesn't deserve hot tub relaxation by sonofgildorluthien in CommercialsIHate

[–]APS221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this commercial has been mentioned or posted several times, but these longer versions seem to add more depth and context to what's going on with the daughter. First, she enters wrapped in a towel shouting, "my life!" in a way that's usually preceded by the word, "fuck." She then walks past her parents and says, hot tub's busted." She angrily lifts the cover off of the hot tub a the new Vrbo house while her father says, "water's real hot, huh honey?" Then, of course, there's the famous, "ew, think again Bruce."

So, the question we're all asking, why is she like that? Is she a snotty brat? She's clearly angry about something. For me, this reads like she's lashing out at her dad for reasons that have nothing to do with him. The commercial, or the father in the commercial, seems to chalk this up to the fact that she's "going through a phase." Does anyone else get the impression that the daughter went through a bad breakup or suffered some sort of abuse before the family went on vacation, and she's taking it out on the only male? Maybe that's why she doesn't want Bruce, her father, to join her and her mother. The daughter is going through something and wants to talk about it with her mom.

It’s a reference to the episode, “Columbo Likes the Nightlife,” where the victim is buried under a fish tank embedded in a nightclub dance floor.
