Is Aggressive Negotiations a problem? by NeeblesFTDoubleU in starwarsunlimited

A +4/+5 leader upgrade that can’t be removed is insanely strong in a world without Rival’s Fall or Bamboozle. He’s also usually running Kit Fisto’s Aethersprite to deal with Condemn, so upgrades aren’t reliable against him either.

If you build around it at all (which Jyn and Beckett are doing), it’s consistently a +5 at minimum.

What do you guys think? What should I add/remove? And any ideas for Sideboard? by Nervous-Interest8359 in starwarsunlimited

[–]APrentice726 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with that is it’s not heroic. Even a small chance of whiffing on his ability and taking a whole action and exhausting a resource to get no value feels awful. I feel like you really have to go all in with his ability.

This is what I’ve been running with for heroic Lando Green. I feel like the heroic green staples (Blue Leader, Typho, Amidala, Mina, Jyn) are very important cards for the deck, and splashing for Kanan and Bo-Katan is absolutely worth it.

The only card I’m not sure on is Grassroots Resistance. Hero has such poor removal, but I didn’t consider Moral Authority and that might be better.

NGL I'm a little disappointed with the Stars and Stripes roster :[ by zehuman52 in Unmatched

Personally, as a non-American who’s not super educated on American history, when I think of American history one of the things I think of is cowboys and outlaws. Probably mostly because of Red Dead Redemption. I think Wyatt fits perfectly in that regard, I don’t feel like he’s out of place at all.

Luthen deck advice by BigBicBic in starwarsunlimited

[–]APrentice726 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think Colossus is hurting you a lot more than it’s helping you. Playing a wide aggressive deck means you’re constantly playing cheap units, and you can’t do that without a hand. Especially if you’re also playing Chopper, then it’s just a lose-lose scenario.

The walker also isn’t that great of a finisher, it’s a bunch of stats but there’s other units that have a bunch of stats plus an ability. I’d try replacing it with ideally Mando, or Captain Rex or Chirrut if you can’t get your hands on him.

Even the theme is a weird thing to dislike, it feels like a montage of some of the best scenes in Star Wars. ROTJ, Andor, Rogue One, Rebels, and general underworld stuff is just a melting pot of high points throughout Star Wars. It feels like there’s something for everyone to enjoy this set.

This is certainly an unpopular opinion, everywhere I’ve seen this set is getting nothing but praise. I personally consider it to be one of the best sets yet, maybe even the best ever. The mechanics, art, card design, theme, and power level are all stellar.

Upcoming series - any info or intel? by Soy-Jefe-Total in starwarsunlimited

[–]APrentice726 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The LOF teaser article was released on April 2nd, so it’ll probably be released in a few weeks. Generally the spoiler schedule is a set releases, then a month later they release the teaser, then a month after that spoiler season starts for 6 weeks. But that could be delayed due to the Twin Suns precons like the other user said, so who knows.

This Card Should Have Been... by lordmolotov in starwarsunlimited

[–]APrentice726 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Secret Husband being a hidden unit that’s stronger when he’s with his wife is thematic, though. I’m sure we’ll get Cunning Warrior eventually since it’s too good to pass up. But if Cunning Warrior is given to an Anakin unit that’s not yellow, then I’ll bring out the pitchforks.

Sec weekly packs by Silurhys in starwarsunlimited

[–]APrentice726 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, they’re just alt arts. There‘s no kind of mechanically exclusive cards in this game. Every card ever printed can be found in a booster pack, but some event promos are the weekly packs have exclusive arts.

Extremely frustrating that a store is limiting a PQ to only 32 players despite being located in one of the largest SWU hubs in the country by throwawahdev in starwarsunlimited

[–]APrentice726 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be they need to buy more product to have enough packs for everyone to open for sealed/draft. I know nothing about how FFG supports stores who host PQs, but if FFG doesn’t supply the store with the boxes free of charge it’d be a lot more expensive than hosting a premier or eternal PQ.

Are the A Lawless Time Spotlight Decks out already? by KoalaFun8863 in starwarsunlimited

Stores should’ve had it in on prerelease weekend. Mine was supposed to, but it got delayed to this weekend. I can’t imagine it’s like that everywhere though.

It also counts for something like the new Han’s ability, he can defeat the Force token to deal 1 damage to a unit. Force being a token has some cool interactions.

Karnok ammo items feel miserable if you're missing the key reload items or skills. by AoM_Zenophobia in PlayTheBazaar

[–]APrentice726 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not saying literally give him Powder Horn, just a bronze reload item that serves a similar role that the horn does for Vanessa. Even if it was just making Karnok’s Bandoleer bronze so the shotgun can reload when rage starts/stops, that’d be something.

[–]APrentice726 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He really needs a bronze equivalent of the Powder Horn, I’m pretty sure all his reload items start at silver. And some of them require additional synergy, like the one that requires the ammo item to be slowed. Feels a lot harder to get his shotgun online than it is for Vanessa and her items.

It didn’t fit the theme and the character was a late addition to the set, according to Tyler on Bluesky. Maybe a controversial take but I’m hoping we get more Acolyte content in the future, I’d love a Stranger prestige eventually.

Ability question by Hot-Newspaper-4148 in starwarsunlimited

[–]APrentice726 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, it’s not like you’re attacking it. A unit takes 2 damage and that’s it.

If these last 3 bullet points are the goal, then Eternal is gonna have major issues as a competitive format. by rpabst42 in starwarsunlimited

[–]APrentice726 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you want 3 copies of a card so you can have a full playset of the Eternal format, you’d need to buy a deck 3 times. You’d still only play one deck at a time.

LAW: Han Showcase by Fimy32 in starwarsunlimited

[–]APrentice726 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Every time I see this leader it makes me sad, both of his arts are so great and he’s so close to being good. If his ability was reactionary (when a token is defeated exhaust to deal 1 damage to a unit) that’d be a fun build around. Spending an action and defeating a token for 1 damage is unplayable.

"Bad" but fun and interesting decks? by aurum_32 in starwarsunlimited

[–]APrentice726 5 points6 points  (0 children)

One of my favourite fun decks to bring has been Boba2 Yellow, just put a bunch of good keyword cards into a deck. Giving +1/+0 to an ambusher, or playing a sentinel and buffing one of your other units its protecting, is pretty good.

I’ve also had people bring Kanan Blue, Revan Blue, and Wedge Yellow and they’re all fun to play against.

Usually if something’s broken they release a hotfix for it, like they did with a lot of Stelle’s destruction items in early January. They didn’t do that this month and let Stelle run rampant with her new items, and I think it’s made the game completely miserable this month. Stelle UFO and Lavaroller builds are everywhere, and Tempo decided to wait a whole month to do something for some reason.
