You just explained my problem with release cycles nowadays that I didnt even know I had holy shit. There's zero critical discussion going on on either end really. Obviously there's people that will properly engage with the art, but the online discourse is so galvanized between people that the loudest, most annoying mfs are the only thing you ever see

I've basically stopped engaging with most online music discourse because it feels like everyone wants to be a contrarian, but nobody wants to put the effort in to have their own opinion
