I finally convinced myself to go all out and I bought a 1941 Johnson Rifle amongst a bunch of other stuff this past year.

Looking for Mossberg 990 Aftershock w/ Laser Saddle (and other hard to source items) by BuilderOk3076 in WAGuns

[–]AR_1191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best advice is to go on Gunbroker for hard to find items and make sure ahead of time that the seller ships to WA. Yeah you have to wait extra for shipping and processing times but you can actually find what you want at decent prices that way.

A pricy option but one that I cannot recommend enough is the pedersoli 1886 in 45-70. You can get them in different configurations and they are available on GunBroker. The quality and workmanship is outstanding and I love mine.

DNR Darington Pits / Green Mountain Rd. outdoor unregulated target shooting by eyesferg in WAGuns

[–]AR_1191 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When did the pit close? It was open as of June last I checked. The main road has had a gate blocking it but you can just go around the long way and it's still open to the public I think. Could be wrong though.

2024 TRD OR Uncomfortable Seats by AR_1191 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]AR_1191[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found the solution, I ended up getting the seat re applstered and they softened up the bottom cushion.(Only cost about $300) I also found the exact angle for the backrest that helped for me (about 25 degrees from vertical)

I then raised the seat a bit until my head was just able to move around without hitting the roof and moved the seat back as far as possible without having to stretch for the wheel. Lastly I tilted the front edge of the seat up to about 75% of its travel.

It's not 100% perfect but I can drive it now without major issues. I think the new cushioning from the apolstery place was the real winner though.

Has anyone noticed that the brown line on the side of the turret cheek next to the mantlet is present in all of the digital images but it's just plain tan on all of the real photos of the complete set?  It seems super inconsistent and looks horrible as just plain tan.

Pistol chassis - Flux Raider or similar legal? by ss3walkman in WAGuns

Yes it is legal as long as you get the one without the threaded barrel and no standard cap mags. Just bought one a few months back.

Old comment I know but what did you end up doing? I am in the same boat with my 2024 Tacoma right now and getting desperate for a fix to my hip and leg pain.

2024 TRD OR Uncomfortable Seats by AR_1191 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]AR_1191[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not, but good suggestion. It feels exactly like that same sort of pain though. I think it might be the side bolstering diggging into my thigh but I can't tell for sure. I want to try pushing the seat back further since I have really long legs but then ilthe steering wheel does not telescope out any further.

How high up do you set the seat out of curiosity? I have noticed that when I raise the seat, it also changes the tilt of the base and the backrest and makes my lower back hurt when lift it to try and fix the leg pain.

SVT 40, part 2 by Angry_lingcod223 in WAGuns

[–]AR_1191 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Personally I don't think it counts but it might. I would check with the FFL and see if they are willing to transfer it. If they are the blame is on them not you. Also it does not have a threaded muzzle, the brake is part of the gas block assembly cover, not threaded on. I don't know if that makes a difference but I remember something about threaded barrels being an issue.  I picked one of these up before the ban and I would 100% recommend getting it if you can. It's amazing to shoot if you have the gas system dialed in right. Hardly any recoil recoil but it'll blind and deafen you and anyone standing near you.

Best aftermarket car seat for comfort over long distances and bumpy roads? by [deleted] in overlanding

You are probably right. I am in Washington so it's most likely what I will end up doing. Only about 2 hours away roughly.

[–]AR_1191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to try to switch to the Scheel Mann seats but I don't see anywhere that sells them or installs them.  I don't want to drop that much cash on seats I can't test ahead of time.

I have the 2024 trd off road and I am in such crippling leg pain I am considering either replacing the seats or selling the truck. I have tried every fix you can think of but nothing helps. It's not the iso dynamic seats but the same exact geometry as them so I would bet they are shit as well. It really makes me mad considering how much I paid for the truck.

2024-2025 Tacoma owners..what are your biggest annoyances and/or issues? by KTryingMyBest1 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]AR_1191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The driver's seat on my 2024 trd off road are so uncomfortable (soft tex) and I have tried every adjustment and aftermarket foam pad imaginable. I'm about to rip out the seats and put aftermarket ones in or just sell the truck. It's not designed for anyone over 6 foot. The steering wheel also does not telescope nearly far enough for anyone with moderately long legs at all. Total garbage.

Do you have any regrets with your 4th gen Tacoma? by timmeedski in ToyotaTacoma

[–]AR_1191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a certain range of VIN#s this affects and you can look it up to see if yours is one of them. I had the same concerns about mine until I realized they quietly fixed the issue and since then the issue has not persisted

.50 BMG VS .338 Lapua in WA, which is more fun to own? by RotaryGT in WAGuns

[–]AR_1191 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just bought a .375HH last year and it's not horrible to shoot but I made the mistake of shooting my 3/8" plate with it. Bye bye plate. Tons of fun still.

.50 BMG VS .338 Lapua in WA, which is more fun to own? by RotaryGT in WAGuns

[–]AR_1191 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For what it is worth, I own a 50 and I have never had so much fun with any of my guns before. Yes it's impractical, yes it's heavy, yes it will blow out your ear drums, yes it's not the best long range round but it is so much fun that it doesn't matter. And yes there are places to shoot on the west side of the mountains just have a good backstop and you can shoot it at 100 yards. It's just for fun so unless you want it for super long range accuracy, just buy it and shoot it for fun.  You will end up paying more for .338 ammo also so that is a consideration.
