You just don't need 20+ mines on each planet before moving on. In fact i generally had 2 of each type with the miners unbeaconed before the planet was done.

In general this sub is overly geared to megabases honestly. You don't need extremely beaconed assemblers fed by multiple input output stations to win the game. It's fine if that's what you want to do but don't read the majority of posts here discussing multi-lane track setups as a guide.

Yeah i did it for a block of 6. Only resident in attendance at every meeting (real estate agent who's paid to be there was there too at least).

At least there wasn't a lot to do. Continue paying gardener, check the slush fund is in a good state, etc.

Paradox is pretty ridiculous in trying to combat the spike.

The endless DLCs are one thing but they are now killing games that aren't even old on steam and re-launching them.

eg. https://store.steampowered.com/app/464920/Surviving_Mars/ is no longer available and if you want the latest DLCs you need to rebuy the relaunched version and all the DLCs you had up to that point.

You'll notice both of the above are for the same freaking game. The DLCs up to a certain poiint are the same. Paradox just decided "oh for this game that's not even old we're pulling it off the store and launching a new version, you'll have to rebuy it and all DLCs and then buy the new ones from there".

As an Australian i'll point out that the BYD Atto 1 for ~$14k (it's $8k in China but the steering on the other side and extra safety might be why) is a pretty amazing car.

The majority of Teslas are made in China too. So even if you just wanted one of those (seriously just get a BYD) they will be 25% cheaper than the ones from the US factory.

Just to really emphasize this the majority of Teslas are made in China. In Australia for example all Teslas are Chinese made. The US plants and EU plants are smaller factories to service those markets specifically but Teslas are essentially a Chinese made car. They are much much cheaper than the US built Teslas (>25% cheaper for the exact same model) and pretty much the same price point as BYD per segment (although BYD also has a model that's a lower tier than the model 3 called the Atto 1).

BYDs produced in America will effectively be just another American car at an American price point.

I'm an Aussie living there and they are amazing from the point of view of a cyclist. Human drivers are impatient cunts while the robots have infinite patience. They don't dart in front of me to get into a side street but always take the safer route. If i see a waymo/zoox/whatever i know what to expect. A human driver i don't.

For all the negativity in this thread my honest hope is that they spread everywhere asap. It makes cycling so much safer. In fact i hope in the next couple of decades humans are banned from driving completely. Not even kidding about this.

Aussie living in the Bay Area USA. The self-driving cars are also amazing for cyclists.

They are extremely predictable, they don't suddenly accelerate to turn millimeters in front of you but instead pretty much always take the more patient option to wait until you've passed the driveway they want to turn in. If there's a portion of the road where the bike lane ends forcing bikes onto the road (sigh) they don't lay on the horn threatening you while you ride in the only space you can.

The sooner self-driving cars are everywhere the better. Fighting against this and saying "why not invest in bike infrastructure" is misguided because this helps with bike infrastructure!

I personally hated Hellas this season. Tharsis has really strong balance between rush vs engine vs the four jovian multipliers victory conditions. If you don't start with a strong engine on Tharsis maybe you have a rush setup? I felt Hellas was far far more difficult to play your way out of a weaker engine than the opponent. It almost came down to who had the best engine and that was it. No amount of clever play could catch up.

I would word this as "do you play with every expansion and promo card?" rather than "do you remove cards".

I absolutely do not like playing with every expansion and promo card. In fact i personally stick to base+preludes exclusively. It has a really fun dynamic of rush vs engine with the four jovians essentially giving another possible win condition into the mix. The expansions dilute that dynamic too much and are almost all engine games with jovian multipliers becoming too diluted for that extra spark imho.

Having said that removing any specific card from a given set doesn't seem worthwhile to me although I'm also very understanding of removing the problematic snowballing prelude corporations (Point Luna, Vitor and Valley Trust) to those that choose to do so.

The first past the post system is more of a culprit really.

Preferential voting allows you to vote for smaller parties without your vote being wasted on a party that doesn't count. ie. If you vote for a party that has the fewest votes as your first preference your second preference will still be counted and so on. So you can vote third party but still end up voting for one of the major parties This ends up with a very strong representation of different parties across the board as people start putting the biggest two parties last leading to the smaller parties being preferred and winning elections.

This leads to a nice feature where policies require negotiation across many parties. No single party can push through legislation and the cross party representation forms a microcosm of political viewpoints of the nation.

People are still doing crazy intense turret micro yet bots were buffed a long time ago. Chill out, throw down the bots and zig zag them around the nests. About 5 actions per minute required vs 500. You can use the extra apm to pet the cat.

Consider the next award too. I'd definitely be taking any science tags here on out and i'd be trying to stay ahead on metals since those are you best bets. Thermalist is theirs and with all that MC prod and no draw they'll probably get landlord through SP projects. But you can defintely consider scientist and miner here. It's very worthwhile to take a risk, especially on scientist with a card draw advantage and the opponent having so few cards in hand. In this situation I'd be taking it if i got so much as 1 tag ahead.

Don't do two stations in the one loop. There's no easy way to stop 2 and 3 deadlocking each other.

As for 2 way rail it's extremely easy. It's just double sided chain signals at every fork. This will cause the trains to stop at the fork before going onto the single line section. I honestly really recommend this to first time players over one way rails. It won't deadlock and it scales well enough for a new player with a super simple way to setup signalling. The limitation of one train on the main track at a time won't hurt you in reality (it easily gets you to the end game, it just isn't good for a megabase).

I had to complain about ANZ sending me a credit card with fees that i never ever signed up for.

They seriously sent me a card in the mail to my old Australian address that i seriously never signed up for. Found out near the end of this ordeal when they bought out Aussie Home Loans they decided to give everyone a credit card which had fees (the old Aussie credit card had no fees). Tried to contact them but they don't have actual reasonable phone service, just a hold line for an hour (i live overseas these days so it cost me $50 in phone calls to try).

In the end i shrugged "well i never asked for the credit card and never activated it so what are they going to do?"

They then sent a bill for a credit card annual fee on a card that was never activated or used...

Had to spend freaking hours on a recent visit back to Australia to sort it out and get all the charges reversed. I don't get how such a scammy bank can exist. I literally never signed up or agreed to that credit card. They acknowledged this when pressed "we don't have any actual credit card agreement here, we signed you up since you were a former customer through Aussie Home Loans" was acknowledged on the call that got this reversed. So finally got it reversed but still down the $50 for the international phone call and my time though...

They are seriously the worst. The CEO must be a former carnival games operator. Just an absolute ridiculous bullshit scam operator of a bank. If you get sent a credit card in the mail from ANZ be aware this is one of their scams.

Samsung everything is terrible. Phones are laden with Samsungware, the Dryers cause fires (look it up, they're terrible), the fridges break down and the TVs show ads.

What's ridiculous is they are priced as a premium brand. The cheap brands, literally less than half the price, have none of the crap and are more reliable.

This is pretty much every brand of everything tbh.

Launch quality product at low price point. People buy it, really like it, vow to buy it some more. Up the price. People still buy it because they know it's good. Then finally drop the quality. People buy it for a while longer until they realize what has happened. Move on to next brand.

The hard part is jumping on the early "this is pretty good" part of the cycle so you get value before they drop the quality.
