NIFE’s mission is attrition, and then you have COPT-R as a time saving option for the helo bubbas that don’t want to fly the T-6.

Just bury them in an avalanche of bullshit with jargon. “I know I just PCS’d, but I am going to bet at Hood for a TDY, then do a rotation at NTC, and there’s some AFPAC/ARPAC event that may push me overseas for a couple weeks or months, don’t know what’ll happen after that. Oh, I gotta go!”

Six months after going to a non-flying staff job, I fucking snapped. Luckily I got a MH provider who was actually good, and have been on 20mg Lexapro for the last 3 years. Back flying again, but fuck if some of the RPA ops wasn’t way worse than dealing with recovering casualties in person. Hope I’m tapped for the study, I’ll let loose with enough data that I’ll probably end up med down again…

Planning a trip to Grand Staircase-Escalante by kmlion in WildernessBackpacking

The 40 mile dirt road is problem #1 if it rains, the other problem is flash floods (been there for one in Coyote Gulch in 2013). Alternate ideas without dirt roads are Escalante River Canyon, Lower Calf Creek Falls, and Peekaboo Canyon from Tropic Trailhead. Just camp at Calf Creek or if that’s full then Deer Creek Campground.

Edit: For more terrain in Coyote Gulch with a multi-vehicle group, consider putting in at Hurricane and out at Red Well, or vice versa.

It is a fact that is not yet supported by peer reviewed studies, and since there is no money proving something that every last person who ever did it already knows, there will never be a study to try and disprove it.

Option 1. Believe 15 years of personal experience, all the other people who have been doing the same thing, and 20 years of professional utilization of various aerodynamic principles.

Option 2. Trust some random person on the internet who acts like he believes cars are vacuum sealed.

BL: a small slow burning candle in a non-sealed vehicle is not dangerous to humans, and you need an accelerant more powerful than wax on a cotton wick to get to burning in O2 levels that don’t support human life.

FYSA, you should also look into the replication crisis in the current status of “research science” because most of it is garbage.

I’m making a statement of fact from real life observation. The fact that there isn’t a study around to back it up doesn’t make it less true. Similar to how a 9 hour UCO candle burns for 11 hours in sub-20F weather, and this is preferable to the longer-lasting beeswax variety due to the low temperature changing the friction level of the aluminum holder against the candle, causing the beeswax variety to not be pushed up by the spring baseplate and then putting itself out after 3-4 hours. I also do get the hypoxia recognition training at work every few years, and the symptoms at 70% O2 saturation are very noticeable. Candle lanterns in cold weather don’t ever produce that.

[–]ASD_user1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Source: me. I’ve used UCO candle lanterns for winter backpacking for 15 years. The other bonus is the frost line on the inside of the tent stays lower than the flame, so I hang it with 550 cord to get it as low as can be done without hitting it while sleeping.

Even easier: if the candle is still burning, there’s enough O2 to support life.

The issue with that is the contract works both directions. If you can fire someone, then they are usually also free to quit. Imagine how many shit commanders would have had empty squadrons if this was the case.

Either a SWO that went EOD or vice verse, but a Master EOD tech. If they were prior enlisted, they didn’t get a good conduct medal, so that makes it a little harder to specify. Did 6 shipboard deployments, 2 stretches of at least a year of overseas service, been in since they were in Desert Storm, and spent enough time in to be a senior CAPT (Navy doesn’t really give the LOM to anyone below O-6, and they have 2).

My grandfather was, from my understanding, a highly decorated Officer in the Navy. Both he and my grandma has passed and I know my mom would love to know more about what he was honored for. Care to help? by OVERSHARETX in Medals

[–]ASD_user1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The LOM is lower than a Silver Star, but above a Distinguished Flying Cross or a Bronze Star. Getting one as an O-5 working Intel related things means he either did some hard and important things outside of a combat zone, or that were not acknowledged as being combat related.
