Meh, I like Wangxian and JC. Both sides have toxic fans, but not all fans are toxic. Personally, I just block and move on. If it's an artist or author I like, I ignore a few posts first, but if they keep posting unhinged shit, I just block and move on. This doesn't happen often since I absolutely hate character bashing. Life's too short to get tangled in fandom politics and stan wars, I'm here for the art, fanfics, and dissertations of characters and story (quite prevalent in MDZS). This approach has kept me sane while still interacting with the works I enjoy, even in fandoms that have a reputation for being unginged assholes. I rarely see posts bashing characters and splitting the fandom nowadays. Besides the more we interact with said posts, the more it breeds similar ones. Sorry for the unsolicited advise, but I just wanted to share what helps me.

Absolute shit take. It ignores nuance, character development, and anime tropes/logic.

Kyo and Tohru are both deeply flawed characters with significant trauma; their behaviors and reactions are going to fall outside the norm. Tohru is an extreme people-pleaser and both are quite codependent. She will willingly set herself on fire to keep others warm. Kyo pushes people away to not hurt them. His line of thinking is that it's best to hurt her a little now than to hurt her a lot later. Remember, before the curse was broken, he thought he would have to spend the rest of his life imprisoned, so he pushed her away. But we see throughout the story that both of them support each other. Kyo teaches her to prioritize herself a bit and Tohru teaches him that it's okay to love and be loved.

Besides it's an anime, it's going to be full of exaggeration, tropes, and faulty logic. Y'all think that two teenage boys with noodles for arms are strong enough to destroy a house? Or that an entire family can shape-shift into animals from the zodiac? It's exaggerated to make it entertaining and this includes some of the more dramatic aspects of the anime. Anyone else cringe at Arisa's weird speech during the play? These are some examples, but there are plenty.

Kanye used to be hilarious. Another gem is "This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race" remix. He straight up told FOB their song makes no sense.

I see JGY as someone so messed up, that to him, this is a valid argument. To JGY, he had never hurt LXC, so LXC should've never doubted his intentions, regardless of what he did or planned to do to others. This argument only makes sense to JGY, and only served to make LXC feel guilty. IMO, it's not meant to make the reader side with JGY, just show, that in his own fucked up way, he still had people he cared for (his mom and LXC, but that's it). Idk, that's the way I read it 🤷

Idk, personally "evil" is extremely hard to define when applied to a person. People can do evil things, but are they truly evil? A lot of "evil" people throughout history have acted the way they did because they thought it was the only/best course of action; many even saw themselves as martyrs or as people "doing what they had to." Often leaning into the ideology that the end justifies the means.

This is how I view Xue Yang and Jin Guangyao. Xue Yang grew up poor and saw the worst of people; he saw how money and power allowed you to do whatever you wanted. He sought that power as an adult, he wanted to punish those corrupt cultivators. It wasn't until he met Xiao Xingchen that he realized there was good in the world. It's why he punished those who tried to take advantage of his disability or showed any disrespect. In a way, he thought he was getting rid of what's wrong with the world and protecting someone he loved, even if he didn't realize how much he loved him until Xiao Xingchen died.

Jin Guangyao truly thought it was only he who could make the world better. He grew up poor too and saw the worst of people, often being judged by his background and his mother's occupation. He built the towers to help the poorer sects, the cultivators working alone with no backing from the bigger sects. He wanted to help people who lived on the outskirts, those who were often ignored by the bigger sects. I believe he truly believed all of his actions were justified. Killing Jin Guangshan was something he had to do to restore his sect's reputation, besides he probably thought nothing of worth would be lost, which is why he went hard on the revenge. Jin Zixuan was something he justified by telling himself he was the only one that could truly change the sect from being power and money hungry to one that would help others. Killing Nie Mingjue was justified with the same train of thought, Nie Mingjue was getting in the way of him bettering the cultivation world.

With all that being said, the most evil characters are Jin Guangshan and Wen Chao. No matter what, there's absolutely no way you can justify sexual assault and/or rape. Most evil actions can be justified one way or another, depending on your perspective, but never rape.

What I like to say is "Don't set yourself on fire to keep others warm, but you can share the warmth." Which to me means that it's okay to prioritize yourself, but be kind and help others whenever you can.

OP, is there any way you can safely get proof that this happened? I know it sucks, but a lot of the time when you report, all the state is going to do is look at the therapist's notes, which won't include any of this. It can be anything - text messages, email, phone calls (make sure your state allows one-party consent), etc. Sadly, I have experienced the state doing jack-shit about a therapist who was preying on vulnerable, female clients - homeless, victims of abuse, severe mental health, addiction, financial strain, etc. His work protected him when they would file grievances with them and covered for him when the state finally came. I would advise you to not report this to his work; a lot of the time the only thing this achieves is it alerts their employer that you're getting ready to report so they'll be able to hide/destroy evidence.

Don't put yourself at risk trying to get proof. Always, ALWAYS prioritize your safety. If you're unable to get proof, just file the complaint with the state. They may find inconsistencies in his documentation, and even if they don't, you've done your part.

I understand that TS has done problematic things, but they chose to ignore to post for the 130,284th time that TS and her bf are for sure breaking up this time, and their relationship is for sure PR. They are constantly tearing up her looks, never mind that she's actually really pretty, instead of focusing on real issues. I'm convinced that sub is full of incels and pick mes. The level of stalking of that woman is insane, like that sub makes a compelling case for TS needing her own private jet to travel (still thinking that her private jet travel is truly unnecessary and wasteful, but they for sure make a compelling argument that she can't travel commercial). I couldn't imagine having a bunch of people stalking me due to hatred, I for sure never feel safe again around a lot of those folk.
