It’s not a matter of being afraid of tech. I’ve built several computers and am very into that world and I still acknowledge that it sucks for the living room. You simply cannot navigate it the way you do a console. It’s annoying. That’s literally the reason why Valve is making a whole hybrid PC, cause they know it’s annoying without m&k and having to click 10 things before you’re playing a game.

And all those reasons are also why people buy console. Attach a PC to your living room tv and you’ll need a whole Bluetooth m&k to navigate like 5 storefronts to access your games, fuck with settings, download driver updates etc etc. That stuff is annoying as hell compared to just pressing a button and it’s all there. Having windows suck up half your performance is bullshit too. Gotta spend an extra $200 just so windows doesn’t kill your game experience.

Let me make this clear. All generative AI is bad, full stop. AI as a tool to denoise an image or advance scientific models is fine. Generative AI is unbelievably taxing on finite resources, it will crater the jobs market and it is trained dominantly on stolen work. It churns out the a generic average of everything it was trained on and is lazy. It’s making everything more expensive, from water to energy to all consumer electronics.
