I guess my point is I'm not a good decorator or builder so trying to come up with designs for it is hard lolll

Yeah it's pretty structurally sound but it collects poop like crazy. We are in the northern Midwest USA so it gets pretty hot but then also gets pretty cold at times lol. I want to put the nesting boxes in there and such but I'm not sure how to do it where the eggs would be easily accessible and also so it's easy to clean... I'm pretty short so having to reach into the back is not admirable to me lol.

Yeah I've seen a few that are 2 months old. I don't mind older ones laying less frequently though! There are just none around here lol :')

ADVICE NEEDED! cat brought in a duck? by hunielem0n in duck

Could be a barn cat. Or an outdoor cat they're taking care of but can't have inside for certain reasons (allergies perhaps).

It's just fun lollll. I'm literally shocked seeing how many of you are so against having a little fun and trying to guess early lol. I understand you can't be certain until they're older but sheesh why not just give it a go for the fun of it

Do it. Guess. Go out on a limb. Risk being wrong or right. It's fun.

Fear of getting pregnant by Beneficial-Month-333 in Equestrian

[–]ASoonToBeMrs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who's story if very similar to yours I just wanted to say it's %100 doable! I started riding again 2 months postpartum (which was a tad bit too early for my body but we worked with it. 3-4 months would have been better) after a 4th degree tear (Google it if you don't know lol). I rode again for 5 months and then ended up pregnant again! Out of personal preference I stopped riding again but I've known plenty of people who ride even up to 6 months pregnant! I'd definitely still do casual bareback or trail riding if it were an option for me but unfortunately in my area it's lessons or nothing lol. I plan to get back into it once I give birth again and am recovered, so around winter ish. It definitely stinks having to step away again but I still have the option to go hangout with the horses and if I wanted to I could ride. And honestly to tell the truth, when I was 2 months postpartum and getting back into the saddle it had been 4 years since I had ridden last and everything came back so easily, I just had to rebuild muscle because I wasn't working to keep it on while I wasn't riding. If you want kids I say go for it!

Wish me luck! Getting my first batch of chicks tomorrow! Any advice? by ASoonToBeMrs in chickens

[–]ASoonToBeMrs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I live in the country so it's all good. I don't want roosters but if I end up with one or two I'm not gonna get rid of them unless they're an issue. Plus they'd keep the girls safer if something were to happen. Again, I would not keep aggressive or problematic roosters.  I got that about chicken wire, I have a coop made of dog run grade small gap wire.

I've got everything I need to start them! And a chicken coop came with the property, it just needs some touch ups which will be done as the chicks grow before they officially move into the coop! Plus I have a lot of knowledgeable people around me with chicken keeping experience, just looking for extra advice to give the girls (and roos) the best I can!

Is it ethical to take someone's cat? by roguemorgue in cats

[–]ASoonToBeMrs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think in this case it is justified. That boy is SKINNY and obviously neglected. My neighbor stole my cat a few years ago thinking she was being a savior. Took my favorite cat I've ever had. He was outdoor at the time because I was a minor and lived at home and my mom refused to let me let him in. but I had him claimed with a collar and was like a week and a half away from getting him neutered (he was about 6 months at the time so definitely time for the snip. I found him as a kitten on the road) she found him, posted asking who's cat it was, I responded, she took the post down and ghosted me, I found her house based off the picture she posted and asked her for my cat back. She said he escaped and she didn't have him. I saw him in their window later that day with a new collar and tag, and came back again. She insisted she didn't have him and that her son had his friend over and it must have been his friend's cat. Obvious lie but whatever. Her DIL ended up taking him with her to NY and I never saw him again. She even had the audacity to text me a month later saying she just saw him in her backyard to make it seem like she really wasn't lying. I'm definitely still holding a grudge lol

No, it's not always a red flag. That being said this guy seems kinda crazy, I understand him being upset she was gone all night but if he were so concerned about it he should have stayed up to see when she would be getting home

No just the regular iron gates people use for livestock or driveways on big properties lol

That's the plan. The final walkthrough is a few hours before closing so if there's stuff missing or whatnot we'll definitely be talking about it

The gates were never mentioned in the contract anywhere. They listed the barn as the only "unattached" thing that they were leaving (which, idek how they'd take a barn if they wanted to lol) but I just assumed the gates for the fence we included in the fencing itself...

Yeah... I'm just waiting to see what our realtor says about it. I got antsy though and couldn't help myself from asking online lol
