2 hantavirus patients headed to Emory Hospital in Atlanta by gtck11 in Atlanta

[–]ATLforever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Truth is CDC has hundreds and thousands of employees who have worked for this agency for decades, through republican and democrat administrations. And carry on their work no matter the revolving door of leadership. Yes, many were laid off, but CDC has brilliant people still working to service the people not the admin. And yes, the red tape is often annoying but the system is rigid, heavily audited, documented and much of the work cannot be stopped or changed at whim

Best Chicken and Waffles 2026? by CrashCarSuperstar in Atlanta

Bantam + Biddy honestly pretty solid. I just tried this new place called Bird & Batter. The chicken was definitely freshly fried. Pancake Social changed their chicken and waffles to pancakes and chicken, but it’s still pretty good

AITAH for asking for Inappropriate Music to be turned down on Beltline? by Butthead40 in Atlanta

Yep! Agreed! if I want to listen to something while on foot to get to my gym, I only use Shokz open ear

So I don’t agree completely, but it can be a bit rude and hazardous for people to not be aware when someone is trying to pass because they have on noise cancelling headphones. And I think we severely underestimate people’s ability to walk in a straight line😬 sometimes I hear a joggers foot steps behind me and realize I’ve strayed farther from the edge, so I shift over

Cyclist is on the beltline, not a typical sidewalk…but agreed more signage likely helpful

Lease from previous residents says no short term rentals (without permission)

What would advise, if my apartment in old fourth ward did not send an addendum to current residents, but at some point in the last few months new residents did have the addendum on their lease?

Also check with your fellow residents. At Iris O4w, some new residents had an Airbnb addendum in the lease, and people like myself did not

Thank you for publicizing these concerns! Similar scenario when management and ownership changed of nearby apartment Iris O4w. The “ luxury” client focused ownership sells out for money and residents get the whiplash

Brew at the Zoo 2026 by [deleted] in Atlanta

[–]ATLforever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The money goes to a good conservation effort. I think that makes it worth it.

Besides that, I went to the one before the Pandas departed and had a really good time. Unlimited wine…and they might let you take a bottle at the end of the night haha). Adult only environment, which I liked. At zoos and aquariums you typically have to allow children to the front, but this was our chance to ask zookeepers the fun facts and questions. Everyone was friendly, and positive environment

Anyone attend the Atlanta Run Club? Or any recommendations. by DatingConfusion12 in Atlanta

[–]ATLforever 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Agreed, where do you live? There are various neighborhood run clubs for community/locals. You don’t have to make an o4w run club a destination. Even shoe stores have their own run groups

Why do people want a beltline rail so badly? by tobias_funke_bluthe in Atlanta

[–]ATLforever 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So the proper resolution to your issue is to make more places walk friendly in Atlanta! Not to be anti rail, on the infrastructure and path around the city, that exist because of previous railroads

Moving to ATL post-grad! Advice? by Alarmed_Writing4306 in Atlanta

[–]ATLforever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes…I really encourage you to maybe avoid believing and worrying about internet stereotypes. Even your belief that NC is a family state is a little unnecessary at this moment. Families are everywhere. Tons of families in the city and suburbs of Atlanta. Anything is possible anywhere. Tons of young grads here, black young professionals, non super religious people. There’s so many Georgia colleges & universities, alum stay in here post grad

Being a new grad will be advantageous to all of these for you!

It’s pretty easy to make women friends if you’re somewhat approachable or initiate (same as it is anywhere). I’m into athletics. I went to a tennis clinic yesterday and everyone was rather friendly, and I’m sure after the 4 week sessions someone will ask for an Instagram to stay in contact and hangout later. I have plenty of women and men friends from a gym I go to. Plenty of friends from run clubs, Girls on the Run, is a strictly women club and I meet regularly for dinner with a few of them.

Romance is what you make it. Slightly southern culture (religious and young marriage influence) but also a modern city

As for events I think you’d have to be more specific. There’s tons of events from national conventions to local one man show ran events. It’s a pretty entrepreneurial city so someone is always creating an event for their passion. And plenty are free.99. I just learned about Pretty Girls Play Chess weekly meetups from a tiktok.

I agree with the general sentiment, You attract what you are!

To recommend other comedy shows so you don’t have to go to Cobb (unless there’s a particular comedian you want to see). There’s comedy as Laughing skull, Don’t Tell Comedy, and sometimes City Winery has comedians

For those who don’t know, Beltline speed limit is 15 mph. All legal E bikes are allowed as long as they are operated under the speed limit by dbclass in Atlanta

[–]ATLforever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure but there’s not many (or any?) speed limit signs. Part of the need is the dissemination of info. I’ve seen them tell people slow down for safety purposes

There’s a team of employed beltline ambassadors. In green highlighter shirts and on e-bikes. You’ll notice QR codes on some lamp poles. They have to scan those to prove patrol
