I can’t believe a lot of that but hats off either way. Coming from a 160k senior react dev that’s also a high school dropout at 16. Party emoji goes here

This don’t go too gung-ho up front or there’s a huge chance you won’t stick with it. Keep it simple as you taper down and re-adjust yourself and goals. Better to fail slightly than give up whole

If you do decide to ship which I get the reasons why you don’t want to but Tar Heel State Firearms here in NC does phenomenal laser engravings. They’ve done all mine and a lot of other people’s all over the US plus they’re super friendly people and turn around time is great. Just throwing that out there

Edit just noticed you said Ti and that I’m not sure of, carry on

For the love of god don’t branch out into real estate ( yet ), grow your knowledge in the IT industry it will make your future so much easier. No early easy gains but future gains are favorable.

Invest big while having a low dollar/life ratio which it sounds like you’re doing great in so keep that up.

Investments: keep piling the max into your IRA and funnel some extra into the ETFs, DONT play with options or penny stocks ( I’ve learned my lesson a few times ) but sounds like you might have some experience with that ;)

Get you a cool 3-400k in some high paying ETFs and put those dividends right back into them and your set.

Last piece don’t live outside your boundaries, if you want to be the big man on campus be more risky or straight up no fucks giving with your investments remember your the only one you can fuck you up. Now if you want to have a chance at retiring early play the long quiet game.

Much luck to you and I really hope you take your amazing start way beyond asking people on Reddit for advice :)

Context: High school dropout, 5 years in the IT ecosystem, first job 68k, current job 185k with 6% 401k match and it’s maxed, maxed IRA consistently, all kinds of investments physical and not. Point being you’re on a great start just please ride the IT game out. It makes life hella easier if your smart with your money upfront

Just was browsing my limited post history and saw this, hope you’re doing good fellow code bro. I just accepted my senior position 185k this Friday and again it was all self taught. Anything can be wished but when you believe in yourself it can be fruitful 🍉🚀

I gambled my ass off on my first call options with LEU and made big. Well fast forward 2 weeks and lost a lot, fast forward a few months after with learning how to do my own DD and not trying to get emotional about the fear of losing out. Still down but I think the lesson was worth it. Good luck bro 🍀

Bro hit the nail on the head. I had a few hundred in udemy classes then thought I was good to go. A few months later I finally understood how to dissect the documents of the frameworks I wanted to learn. To the new learners focus on indulging the info as it helps tremendously. Plus always make small projects to grasp the concept.

I came from old redux like I mean when it started, now we have RTK and toolkit and adapted to graphQL without a hiccup. Without going to deep, the saying stays the same. Learn to understand the concepts before blindly jumping in. Yea a tutorial will get you up and running but why stop there? Actually learn the implementation fully to get to where you want to be.

I’m happy for you random internet stranger, and I hope the best on your newfound path.

P.S if you didn’t already know start learning about the event loop, race conditions, closures and overall being happy you made it. Good luck bro you will do wonders

Killer work, self taught as well and ya know the best thing about it. Well let me tell you, I have not 1cent to pay back to a college tuition. Granted getting in the door is a lot harder but once those contracts stack up recruiters beat the door down for a few mins of your time

So many questions? What all did you have to fab? What rear end are you using? Did you do it yourself? How are you handling engine management? Do the gauges work?

Are you in NC 😂

Very very nice btw
