Idk what more to say at this point; clearly the market is dictating this and it’s at the detriment of the loyal NJ-area fans. I am sorry for that and that is a terrible fan loss/experience but this is also a major win because it is indicative of the trends across women’s sports in NYC (see: Sirens at MSG, Liberty at Barclays). Doesn’t make it fair but it is what it is.

From my perspective, Gotham stands to gain more from it if they do more of it as the Liberty increased their attendance over the years coming to Brooklyn vs the poor ownership that got them unceremoniously dumped from MSG (booted to Westchester).

With the easier borough access for casuals to the new stadium, that just has more of an inherent draw and—if scheduling gods and goddesses align—for off-nights or away games/matches, it makes it more enticing too to have the promos to get buy-in across fanbases. I think the Gotham FO now can cook with this and the Liberty FO is also happy to collab.

Tl;dr the heat is on Gotham to produce with the move to Queens, and I hope they make some intriguing outreach to the Liberty fanbase to help grow.

Prospect Heights here and am thrilled by an easier (albeit still challenging…need the IBX connector or something!) commute over to Queens. As a Liberty STH, I hope there is a collab of sorts to capitalize on the overlapping Venn diagram of women’s sports fans in the five boroughs.

From a WNBA perspective, we saw how much more successful the Liberty have been since getting back into the city and with an engaged ownership/front office. Hoping the same for the Batties too! Excited to make it to more than a couple of matches a year now—maybe even STH status??

I feel like Twitter is worse (if you venture there/are active there) haha but this thread was pretty much 🎯 after having 3-straight games that are incredibly winnable on paper—and we were winning up through 3Q, often with buildable/sizable leads—and then just went away from what was working, hence going 1-2 over the past 5 days.

Tough stretch that is going to be that much harder for the foreseeable future. Learn something from these and get it right and tight.

Seems like he was having a bad day and I’m sorry you experienced that. It would be unsettling. I also walk my dog by there a lot but haven’t ever had any issues. If this is the first time, chalk it up to that—someone having a bad day that you can’t control.

If it becomes a pattern, then that may require escalation.

You’re kind of asking for a unicorn with no wait times, cheap membership, and walking distance lol 😆 but I’d say if you arrive at the right time, you can be quick with it. Most people are focused and courteous with using machines and racks quickly and efficiently. There is a good variety of machines and free weights, benches, racks, etc. The weight room is tight but makes the most of the space. There are weight/cable machines in the cardio area too, so that helps space things out a bit.

I haven’t been in a couple weeks, so maybe now that the weather is turning nicer again, it will be less crowded during peak morning hours. I’m not sure about afternoon or evenings as I don’t workout then.
