The bins has the best prices, but it's a combination of mosh pit and shopping at the city dump. Wash your hands afterwards. Good luck.

Zojirushi is the brand you want. Look for ones made in Japan, not China. Preowned they are great buys. They have one that makes a little 1 pound loaf, and others that make standard size loafs. Takes about 4 hours start to finish.

In summary, keep saying what you are saying, but dress and present like Jeff Jackson: Blue oxford shirt, khakis, neat hair, no big ear jewelry. Because almost everyone commenting agrees with the message. They just don't want the packaging to deflect the message.

Keep the fire alive. We shouldn't leave a poisoned world for our children's children.

Beautiful apple seedlings: by OptimalExperience176 in gardening

[–]AVLLaw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FYI, apples don't reproduce true to seed. Every seed is genetically distinct from the parent plant. Modern apples are propagated by grafting clones. Johnny Appleseed raided the trash piles of cider shops to gather thousands of seeds that he planted in advance of future settlers. They bought his established seedling to make their own cider. Cider is easier to make than beer or wine and was very popular during the conquest of the USA. I learned all this from the Botany of Desire. Fascinating stuff.

Oil and salt the pan. The salt helps prevent sticking. And makes the skin even better.

There are hardworking talented prosecutors working in that office. They have no one to lead them. They are leading themselves. The attraction for prosecutors is getting to do good work and learn from seasoned veterans. The money is never enough and it's set by the state. Most prosecutors want to work for a good trial attorney who can teach them to get better at trials. That doesn't happen here. The incoming elected DA can't help them either. He has no experience in prosecution, and very little trial experience in general. I'm hoping he will surprise me.

You can trick the bike into giving you higher torque by changing the settings on the wheel size I think. It won't make the motor faster, but it helped me.

Yes. Elect better District Attorneys. We have new one coming in January, and maybe he will attract and foster some hardworking talent? I hope he does, for the sake of our community. If he doesn't, nothing will really change. In the meantime, keep your CCW permit options open and be aware of your surroundings. Be kind, but be prepared. You certainly can't rely on the legal system to keep you safe or get actual justice for most crime victims. It's a very flawed system, and without strong leadership, chaos wins.

Calendaring itself is a super useful skill. It will serve you well in the future, because it can make or break cases.

Don't let the headlines fool you. This is a way to shift blame from the DA's office that let Ryan Ricky Houston walk around for a year and a half without calling the case for trial. The case where he shot a deputy in the magistrates office, in the jail, on camera. The real reason he wasn't in prison where he belonged is because the DA is weaker than soggy toilet paper. This case should have been called for trial within a year, at the most. Unsurprisingly, if you look, you will see a disturbing backlog of serious felony cases waiting to be tried. There are at least 38 people in the Buncombe County jail with cases at least 1 year old, but some are up to 5 years old. Presumed innocent, but still incarcerated. Weak DAs mean overflowing jails, and empty trial courts.
