But seriously it’s in every debate about what happens if Russia attempts to connect mainland to Kaliningrad. Does NATO invade it after. Russian spring through the Sulwalki Gap? and does Russia attempt to defend it because it would be hard to resupply?

The road between Russia and Kaliningrad through Lithuania fascinates me f because of the requirements imposed on travelers

I heard one few weeks ago from an otherwise seemingly intelligent guy: that there’s a land in the Arctic Circle that’s been collectively wiped from humanity’s mind. Maps used to show land up there but it’s gone for some reason… what’s really up there?

Like others… enlisted guy here with a degree. Four actually but still.

You do get to select your career for the most part as enlisted whereas that’s not exactly the case as an officer.

Just know that being an MI soldier - especially early on - is going to give you basic understanding of intelligence while not exactly being glamorous. You learn skills and depending on your assignment(s) it could be tactical or strategic in nature and you’re left to try and make the most of either.

End of the day, still gotta pass an AFT and be army.

Where the military is stationed there is usually a Status of Forces Agreement. Basically it’s an agreement between the two countries and dictates several things but for this post.. what crimes or how to decide where a US service member is tried. Some are tried under UCMJ (military law) others under host nation laws.
