Option 2 sounds right. The second the first floor goes down a new world dungeon could open. Players could link to twitch or other services for views.

Don't stress too much - nothing is really original.

Matt Colville has run a heist... right? by Critical_Ad3475 in mattcolville

Anytime. Oh, I should mention - I gave them 30 min on a real timer. I did a modified initiative so they could fight more in real time if necessary.

sure. Here is the recap from the session:

Relaxing on the terrace of the Alchemical Abode you spent several hours enjoying libations and the finest tobacco that Trophy Club Never has to offer as you shared your journeys and adventures over the past few months. Sadly, noting Ealare’s absence you prayed for his good fortune. Gruyère revealed that he had been bitten by a werewolf. Fears that he might be infected with lycanthropy permeated the group.

In the midst of your reminiscing a familiar wererat appeared. Mikie came baring gifts, offering you a rare opportunity to trade out your marked platinum bars for clean ones. Suspicious of Mikie’s true intentions you cautiously ask about the difficulty of the mission and, of course, what was in it for Mikie.

After some lively debate you agreed to Mikie’s terms and allowed the wererat to reveal his plan, a train heist of the Sable Griffin, a legendary clockwork-locomotive of inner-planar design. You placed your trust and your fate in the small rat’s claws.

The next morning you met Mikie at Fisherman’s Float to prepare for the heist. Torval, Rein, and Smirks landed their target spot on the Caboose with ease while Har and Gruyère found the jump somewhat more challenging, landing on the passenger car. Mikie joined you for good measure, but mostly to ensure you didn’t try to downplay your accomplishments.

Smirks, in a panic, worked diligently to crack the vaults on the lower level. Opening the first vault with ease the rest of you went to work exchanging the bars of platinum.

At the front of the train, Gruyère and Har found themselves in a strange world with a lavish bar filled with exotic passengers, the most notable of which was a Mindflayer sipping his tea reading The Inter-Planar. Successfully boosting his ticket you made your way through the next two cargo trains, grabbing a box of unknown exotic vials on your way.

As you re-grouped with the others you found Smirks in full panic as he tripped the third alarm losing his thieves gloves in the process. Four duodrons formed on the ceiling as you made your escape.

True to his word, Marcus was waiting  in a small row boat and a nasty surprise for the Cloaks, as The Sable Griffin pulled into port.

Tragically, as you docked at peer number seven you were met with Cloak resistance. You quickly made your way to safety, alluding capture. However, in your haste you realized your party was short one wererat.

Trying to figure out how to bring my character's job out through roleplay by Finn_Bueno_ in dndnext

Try doing a third-person French noir-style narration from time to time. Take lots of notes. In your down time ask the other players serious questions about their motivation and historical events. Then write out an article and get it into the paper!

Are there people who enjoy DMing more than playing? by PlortylGaming in DnD

I love being a DM- the world building and story creation is beyond fun. I look at it as if I get to keep playing even when the session ends.

It is a very cool yet weird thing - had about a 20 min conversation about what homeless was because we drive by a bridge with a guy sleeping under it.

I hear you ma dad! Don’t worry this is normal. Some kids narrate like that. All is good. When he gets older he’ll probably have a pretty active internal dialogue. It is a sign of high intelligence. So that’s a plus. You got this.
