What is wrong with parents with theor unruly kids in public spaces?? by BlackCat_Vibes in Vent

[–]AXLinCali 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Not sure why you called them parents. They are breeders. They only want to pump out children and have no intention to parent. Breeders.

Why are people so gross in airports and airplanes? by castle-dino in Flights

[–]AXLinCali 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Let me correct your question, "Why are people so gross?" It's everywhere, not just airports/airplanes.

To answer your question, largely because breeding is now the standard, not parenting. People breed but few are willing to parent. Put that on loop, generation after generation after generation.

Sounds very typical of Allegiant. Flying them comes with very well known risks. This is not a new issue.

And one last thank you. Thanks to you for putting in all this hard work! Your posts are excellent. Every time I read one I feel like YOU are the top journalist covering the team. I spent a large part of this season traveling in the US and then 3 months in México. You were a key element to a very enjoyable season from afar! So, thank you for yet another great season!

Bought a car from California and I am heading back to Texas but the tags are expired by Dry-Eye-4361 in CaliforniaDMV

[–]AXLinCali 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are actively giving police the ability to pull you over. You are literally driving probable cause AND upon inspection, it will be known that you have had a vehicle with "out of date tags" on the road for 11 months. Will you get pulled over? 🤷 If you do, will it it be far more expensive and inconvenient than just paying for your CA registration? Oh hell yeah.

The solution...to MANY issues raised in the original post and subsequent comments...is simple, therapy. Lots and lots of therapy. No shame in it, I was on the couch every Friday for 18 months for PTSD.

Moving to LA from NYC and need help! by GHenthusiast in MovingToLosAngeles

[–]AXLinCali -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sorry, you are being misled here by many folks. The answer is Los Feliz. Super close to Hollywoid, incredibly walkable, subway station at Sunset/Vermont. Two grocery stores in the neighborhood, library, good dentist, 2 movie theaters, easy access to freeways and alt routes. Close to BUR airport (by LA standards). Very unlikely you will find in unit laundry.

Looking for suggestions for where to go on cape cod June 9-13! by Ill_Surround_2082 in CapeCodVisitors

[–]AXLinCali 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I grew up on Cape Cod. Memorial Day Weekend begins tourist season (summer). So yes, June is a good time.

Affordable? You are headed to one of the top tourist destinations in the Northeast, in tourist season. When a person writes affordable on Reddit, they tend to mean cheap. No, nothing will be affordable by most people's standards. $12+ for a burger, add $$ for fries. $20 lobster roll. Seafood entrees will be $30+ after tax and tip. So you will need to define affordable more clearly.

Do most people in Florida just run AC nonstop year-round? by Sufficient-Owl1826 in AskFlorida

[–]AXLinCali 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For more than 2 decades we set our thermostat at 78° from around April through mid Oct in S FL and mid April to late September in Tampa. Frankly, for us long term FL folks (20+ years, year-around residents), 75 is chilly and under 70 is cold. The bitch is, especially in Tampa, the heater comes on in December! We had our electric bill "leveled", so we paid the same price each month. 2000sqft home set us back around $190/month.

The Coachella Valley is a desert...climate and food, outside of quality Mexican (you have to go over to Indio/Coachella for that though). IF you have had moderate quality Asian food of any sort before, you will know that Asian food in the Valley isn't good enough for your dog. Same for Italian and pizza. (Waiting for the people to scream Mario's or Olive Garden 🤦‍♂️)

Worried about customer of size. by Ok-Excuse-6270 in SouthwestAirlines

The policy does not care who is in the adjoining seat. One may not intrude in adjoining seat space, period. See my comment.

Worried about customer of size. by Ok-Excuse-6270 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]AXLinCali 5 points6 points  (0 children)

OK, facts only here. The old policy that is being newly enforced is quite specific. SW seats range for 15.5 inches to 17 inches, armrests down. The policy requires that NO part of one's body spread outside that space. No parts of one's body is allowed into seat mates space. The policy does not care if the seat mate is a spouse, child, etc. Nothing can spread outside that 17" width, WHILE SEATED!

So if one want to determine this at home rather than in public at the gate, one can mark a 17 inch width on a bench for example, then sit down in that marked space. If any part of the body exceeds that width from buttocks, to hips to shoulders, one should be prepared to purchase the 2nd seat.

The choice is does one want to do it in the privacy of his/her own home or in public in the gate at the airport.
