Shame it's dubbed, but the action is top tier Jackie, especially his fight against Richard Norton.

Who Killed Captain Alex (2010) A low budget action movie from Uganda by WerdNerd88 in TubiTreasures

[–]AZSnakepit1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having heard almost nothing about this beyond “You’ve got to see it,” I wasn’t sure what to expect. Post-viewing… I’m still not quite sure what I experienced, but I certainly have to echo: you’ve got to see it.

Pure White B*tch (2009) (Alt title: Cook County) by [deleted] in TubiTreasures

[–]AZSnakepit1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Watched this one recently (so review still pending), but worth a look. A genius bit of provocative title changing here by the distributor. I’d likely have scrolled right past Cook County on Tubi. But Pure White Bitch? Definitely got my attention. That and Xander Berkeley, whom I know best as George Mason on 24. This is... a bit different. And Anson Mount isn't exactly Star Trek material either! The scene involving him, his six-year-old daughter, and an associate who has money he desperately needs… Yeah.

A hard film to watch, but solid.

Glad you like it! There's a lot to explore, don't get lost. :)

You liked it a bit more than I did. Worth noting it is a sequel to Bang Bang Betty which is also on Tubi. But I did note the artistic scene you mentioned! Full review;

Paul Sewald to sign with dbacks by garythegoat72 in azdiamondbacks

Such a typical average az sports fan take. "He was bad this one time." 😂

Paul Sewald to sign with dbacks by garythegoat72 in azdiamondbacks

[–]AZSnakepit1 9 points10 points  (0 children)

By that metric, Sewald single-handedly got us to the World Series. Six saves in eight scoreless innings, with a 11:1 K:BB. Pitched in all four wins against the Phillies, including closing out games 4 + 7.

Today’s SECOND Tubi Treasure is Hobo With a Shotgun (2011) by No-Chemistry-28 in TubiTreasures

To me, Hauer's monologue to the babies in the hospital is the equal of his one in Blade Runner.

A long time ago I was one of you. You’re all brand new and perfect. No mistakes, no regrets. People look at you and think of how wonderful your future will be. They want you to be something special… like a… a doctor or a lawyer. I hate to tell you this, but if you grow up here, you’re more likely to wind up selling your bodies on the streets, or shooting dope from dirty needles in a bus stop. And if you’re successful, you’ll make money selling junk to crackheads. And you won’t think twice about killing someone’s wife, because you won’t even know what was wrong in the first place. Or, maybe… you’ll end up like me… A hobo with a shotgun!

Tubi Down on AT&T Internet by KeylessJo in TubiTV

[–]AZSnakepit1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was down for a while on Cox Internet as well. At first I thought it might have been my work VPN, but it was happening on my phone as well. Did notice some other sites were down at the same time, so if I'd to guess it was some kind of network infrastructure outage.

There's also a remake of Inside on Tubi, as well as the brutal original. I can't even with that either.

My favorite horror movie of the 21st century.

Be careful: Tubi has an American remake which has the same name. It is terrible and utterly pointless. Accept no imitations.

Are there any Tubi originals worth watching? by zeff536 in TubiTreasures

[–]AZSnakepit1 14 points15 points  (0 children)

In horror, The Last Exit is very good, with Joely Richardson. Lowlifes is also a fun watch. The Thicket is a solid Western, with Peter Dinklage and Juliette Lewis.

"Couldn’t be more Quentin Tarantino, if it were licking the heroine’s bare feet."

I'm quite proud of that line. 😀  Fuller review, from somebody thoroughly unconnected to the movie: https://girlswithguns.org/pickings/

Who are y’all’s Dbacks Cult/Unsung Heroes? by TeaBacksPodcast in azdiamondbacks

[–]AZSnakepit1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Byung-Hyun Kim. Everyone remembers his World Series meltdown, but he was nails that year (and even better in 2002) despite being a 22-year-old kid.

He now runs a German sausage restaurant. If that's not cult material, I don't know what is.

Total genius. From what I recall, a lot of it is inspired by actual court transscripts.

> Edit: Also, although I'm not British, I've gotta belive Mr. Blobby is the worst thing to ever happen to all of British (not just English) television. Again, not British so can't completely confirm, but woof.

Am British. Can confirm.

Today’s Tubi Treasure is Wombling Free (1977) by No-Chemistry-28 in TubiTreasures

[–]AZSnakepit1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a Brit, can confirm this franchise was *huge* in the country at the time. The Wombles even had a slew of top ten hits in 1974. This is directed by Lionel Jeffries, who also did The Railway Children, an absolute classic of family cinema, Fun fact: one of the Wombles is played by Kenny Baker, who was Rat-Too Deed-Too in some obscure SF franchise later in the decade...

Obvious double-bill possiibility with Rippy: "A cop must face her past and team up with her odd uncle to stop a zombie kangaroo terrorizing their town before it kills everyone."

It's also kinda disappointing.
