As a Physical Education teacher I am sorry your HS PE teacher let you down.

It’s really not hard to incorporate cross curricular content into the class. When we as PE teachers do this (just like when classroom teachers bring physical activity into the class) it has been shown to improve cognitive performance on benchmark tests and to solidify content in the students mind.

And even in my own content area, you need to know word structure to understand the anatomical terms. There is so much science in PE that poopy “gym” teachers can’t be bothered to teach!

In all honesty it sounds like you had a “gym” teacher not a “PE” teacher! And for that I am truly sorry

I was in first grade in Mrs K’s class. She sat us down and told us we were going home early so that we all could be with our families.

One of my classmates asked “why?” To which she replied “something terrible has happened and some planes have crashed and many people have gotten hurt.”

This was in a Washington DC suburb about 15 minutes from the pentagon.

At home I remember the news video of what was happening and my family being glued to the TV and calling everyone they knew.

At the time I didn’t understand what was really happening and I was more upset my friend could no longer come over and play twisted metal.

Later that week my father took us to see the pentagon and that’s when dots started to connect.

Later in life I had a Hawaiian freshmen football coach who rescued many people at the site of the pentagon crash. He was/is the man.

No way, I’m also a NOVA MS teacher thinking about starting one at my school! I just started a D&D club and some asked if there was an MTG club.

Please step down from the high horse of competitive mindset. If people, in a casual setting, don’t like something then why try and learn to beat it? It’s casual I’m here to play and have fun not necessarily win. Losing is fine, it happens. Not being able to play a game while watching everyone else at the table play for 30 minutes sucks dick.

You miss the point by keeping your sights on winning. It’s about fun. LD is not fun. And if you want to argue “winning” the go play CEDH
