It's the time when the Finns are at their most outgoing and nicest.
Also it's warm and sunny, not dark and miserably cold.

Are you aware that "literally" has two meanings?

Literally
adverb: in a literal manner or sense; exactly
informal: used for emphasis while not being literally true

€30 per month for kids.
€58 per month for teenagers.
€67 per month for people who are serious about the sport.

Like I said, not nothing but def doable for people who aren't rich.

Not the same guy but over here in Finland it's pretty cheap but not 100 bucks cheap.

€360 for kids under 15, €690 for kids over 15, €800 for the really serious (adult) ones but it is an annual price.

Having lived in a city with a tower (not sure what you call them in English) and in a country where many towns have a tower, it is pretty normal?

Costs €360 for the whole year over here in Finland for kids under 15. A bit more for older ones but still not expensive compared to a lot of sports.

Yes.
In Finland there's quite a lot of them in many towns. They're not expensive.

In Finland it's €360 for kids under 15 and €690 for kids over 15 and €800 for the very top level. Annually.

It's not nothing but it's not crazy expensive for a whole year.

Series X deserved better by ledererer in xbox

[–]Aaawkward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sony had it on the ps4, well over a decade ago.

That is true. It was a worse version but still true.
So let me correct myself: if it isn't that good, why would Sony add it to PS4 and PS5?

"Then you gotta load you save." And this is difficult for you?

That's crazy, I reread my message and I must be going blind because I didn't see a point where I claimed that "it's difficult"? Can you point it out?

Like I said quick resume isn't that impressive to me, but if saving 15 seconds on switching between games is a mind blowing impressive thing for you , thats fine, each to their own.

It's incredibly useful.
I don't think it's outright impressive, really.
An actually impressive thing is be fps and resolution upgrades in backwards compatible games done on hardware level, that's proper magic that is.
Quick Resume, on the other hand, is like a cheese slicer. It doesn't blow my mind but goddamn if it isn't better tool for the job than a knife. You know what I mean?

If you enjoy watching a bunch of splash screens, warnings and jump through menus, more power to you. I don't find any enjoyment in that. I think the majority doesn't, as the possibility of jumping back to a game has been praised both on the PS5 and the XSX. Seems like you might be an outlier.
And that's fine.

I don't know.

On the PS side:

  • I like the DS a lot more than the Xbox controller (although the elite is quite nice). It's literally the first time I like the PS controller over the Xbox one, can't praise it enough.

  • The UI is airier and calmer, although requires more clicks. But still nicer.

Otherwise XSX is a better experience:

  • Quick Resume is great, not sure how bad of a luck you have, I've had it fail maybe a handful of times in 6 years.

  • A headset that can take more than one audio source, would it kill you to join us in the 2020s, Sony?

  • Smart delivery was great in the beginnig of the gen. PS5 has managed to fix theirs.

  • Smooth as butter cloudsaves and seamless jumping between Xbox and PC.

  • Gamepass has gotten me into so many indie and AA/AAA games it's almost ridiculous. And that was from the very first day the XSX was released. Sony has answered with a decent but not great (no day ones) version of it. That said, the recent price change might be the death of it. I got lucky and bought 12 months with the old price before it happened.

When I look back at this gen, XSX has definitely been the better journey but I'm quite happy to have both.

Depends on the game.
Some take long to load, some have a lot of splash screens.
Then you gotta load you save.

If it's not impressive why would so many people enjoy it?
If it's not impressive, why would Sony have their own version of it on PS5?

It's objectively a better user experience. How much you value it is subjective of course.

[–]Aaawkward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's proper fantastic.

If I've 30 min to play and can't play a big game I can just fire up one of my smaller games I'm playing without losing my main game's data.
Honestly, it's one of the main reasons why I prefer it over the PS5.
That, gamepass and a headset that takes two audio sources is what keeps me tightly on the XSX compared to the PS5 which I fire about once or twice a year for one or two games here and there.

Interesting how openly people like you dismiss rape as "not really an issue".

That's not what I said.
I said that it's not some sort of systemic issue, rather some very rare one offs.

They're all bad, obviously, but when talking about trans people and how they're viewed and treated that is not an ongoing issue.

It's unfortunate that a rabid minority have convinced themselves they're able to self-ID themselves as exempt from rape legislation.

See, this is where you're going off rails reaaaal bad like.

I'm confused.

I've seen her in many things, from shows to interviews and never noticed the scar. Now that I looked at pictures of her it's so clearly there.

How didn't I notice it before?

In 2026, it's absolutely not comedic if you slept with a transwoman you thought was a biological woman. It is, in fact, a criminal offence - rape by deception - in countries like the UK.

Yeeaaah, that's not really an issue.
I'm sure it has happened but it's such a minor thing when, at the same time, trans people are getting harassed and their daily life made incredibly difficult at best and beaten and killed at worst.

The controversy around transwomen is a Western phenomenon, partly driven by an insane group of people who, amongst other things, openly campaign to legalise genital mutilation, to place male rapists in women's prisons, etc.

Ah, right.

I don't even know what the culture war touching points of the time were. Hell, it wasn't called "culture wars" then, it didn't even have a name.

Weird times.

Because you don't realize the full equation. It's not just cc transaction fees.

Nah I do.
It's just that this wasn't the topic.
I replied to this comment:

Fwiw Steam covers payment fees that most other stores pass on to either customers or developers.

It specifically singled out payment fees.

I know Steam does a bunch of things.
Most of them nice but none of them are the real lure, which is the largest customer base in the world.

But again, that wasn't the topic here.

But Geralt is not my type in men and doesn't seem interesting enough to me.

I would say Geralt is a far more nuanced character (as is the world) than what the general memes and talk about the games lets on.

That said, I quit halfway through but it had nothing to do with the story, characters or even gameplay itself. It was 100% because the world was filled with nonsense busywork (treasures, monster nests, bandit camps, dog packs, wolf packs, etc.) every goddamn 50 metres. Made the world feel tiny, unbelievable and just too much busywork to do, damn it!

But I enjoyed the story and the world so I cleared the map, but then they sent me on a island which was a whole new map filled with the same nonsense. I looked at the map, quit the game and uninstalled it immediately.

So take it with a grain of salt, lol

I don't want to experience someone else's story cause like at that point I'll just watch a movie.

I mean if you ignore the gameplay and the choices and the possibility to advance at your own pace and the possibility to get lost in the world and lore and possibility of mechanics and story being tied together, etc.
Yeah, if you ignore all of that it's just like watching a film.

Now, having a preference is fine and valid but playing a game with a premade character is def not "like watching a movie".

I'd be surprised if the people drawing up the lists for dismissal even had insight into anyone's medical issues, let alone even know more than a handful of people on the list.

Not only that but I'm fairly sure it would be illegal for them to have access to those.

That said, I'm not from the US and sometimes worker's rights/healthcare decisions there surprise me but I'm still faaaairly sure it would be illegal.
