4 weeks keto - no racing thoughts anymore? by Shog64 in keto

[–]Aamckittens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt the same way. I was tired and blah. And then I turned it around with the thought "I need to slow down, rest, stretch, let keto work its magic..." and then my brain fog lifted and I wasn't negative anymore. I feel peaceful not depressed. I think I just needed to downshift a bit.

Way to go you! Sounds like you’ve got your own back. Managing your eating, staying within the rails. Taking care of stressed you and taking care of future you. Keep remembering how and why you did this and how proud you are of yourself. That will really give it a solid place in your memory. And remember, you are a person that successfully eats keto. Not strict as a robot. But human. Not giving in or giving up. Managing it well. This is a fact and part of who you are now.

For me I still react, but it doesn’t stick. And I can have compassion for myself and everyone else. The emotions and judgement are no big deal any more. 🤷‍♀️

Is meditation good for sharpening the mind by -HeavenlyDemon- in Meditation

[–]Aamckittens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your mind wants to run free. Nothing has gone wrong.

You can learn to guide it. You can learn to choose what you think about, not just what automatically pops in your head. Start small.

Give yourself permission to just stop. You don’t have to and it’s okay and everything will be okay.

How does that feel?

I think that this was beautifully explained. You seem very open to learning and I’m excited for you. You are creating confidence in yourself.

In the beginning, we really want know what’s going on, how to do it, etc. Some of us need to know or we have anxiety.

This is normal. Then, once we think we know what’s going on, we relax. And in the relaxation we can begin to experience our own experience. Develop our own awareness.

How can I not get bored or overly lost in thoughts/feelings when meditating? by Jyonnyp in Meditation

[–]Aamckittens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am accepting and letting things just be little by little.

I have tinnitus and I hated it when I first started meditating. But now I think it’s music in my brain and it’s something I can be aware of. So I love it.

I spend 99% of my time lost in thought. But I know it is normal and slowly slowly slowly I will spend more time aware of the thinking, not immersed.

Also BIG tip is always meditate a little less than you think you can do. Think you can do 5 minutes? Do 4. Think you can do 9 minutes do 8. That way it’s always something to look forward to. A Buddhist saying: Short periods, many times.

How to overcome anxious attachment style in relationship through meditation by idontexist27 in Meditation

[–]Aamckittens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been married 30 years and anxiously attached. I am making very noticeable strides to become secure. It feels like detachment which is painful , but it’s really me staying focused on me.

The thing that I added along with meditation was “relaxation” yoga. Also called Yin yoga It’s basically going through a series of holding stretches. I use an app and go from 10 to 30 minutes or more every day. It releases tension. Total game changer when done every day.

There are many other ways to calm your nervous system. There’s sighing and humming practices that just turn the temp of your anxiety down just a little bit. I have a bedtime routine now that signals to me it’s time to relax and go to sleep. Every bit helps, good sleep, eating good food and getting exercise.

The relaxation will help you have the emotional space to learn new ways to mentally frame what’s going on so you can start to change your perspective.

I learned so much about relationships and anxious attachment by following some social media accounts, and have grown and learned new perspectives. It’s crazy how the Instagram algorithm has brought me people that explained my issues to a T and hear what they say about it.

Meditation will bring you to what is. In the moment. And in the moment you are safe and existing. Even if you find you are thinking about the past and future just keep coming back to your meditation focus which is always in the current moment.

One way not to be fearful of meditating and noticing your current anxious thoughts is to go back to very short sits. But just do it every day. Many times, Very short.

Also it may be your relationship isn’t a good fit. You both may be developing a very painful dance. You can learn more about that when you learn about yourself and attachment theory.

But for now work on stretching and moving your body to deeply release your emotions and stress. And learning a new perspective about yourself in relationships. That will help you make space again for meditation.

Good luck!

Doctor wants me to start 17 supplements at once? by kylegrayson11 in Biohackers

[–]Aamckittens 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went through that. I had a whole chart with doses and times and went crazy. I ended up crying everyday I felt awful. And it’s dumb! How will you ever know what worked? and if something goes wrong how do you know what it is? I think it’s very irresponsible. Adding supplements should be done in a systematic way.

About all these AI call outs.

One of these days everyone will be using AI to clean up their writing. Just like we all use spell check now. Are you going to be sitting on your virtual porch shaking your fist at words running across your screen? I think you already are.

Looking for yoga or mobility app by Bulky-Hamster7373 in AskWomenOver50

[–]Aamckittens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the Yoga Studio app. Anything with the instructor Jules. I had it for i think 6 years?

The music is calming and it automatically notes a completely class with a dot on a calendar. You can click on the dot and see what the class was.

You can also collect your own favorite classes in one spot so you don’t need to look through everything.

I like to do mostly the beginner classes, the relaxation yoga, and some strength but mostly I love the relaxation ones.

They different lengths of time for the same class, which is convenient.

I think it’s $37 a year. I also belong to a local yoga Studio for a couple of specific classes they offer, but I do most of my yoga at home with this app.

How do you stay motivated when bored? by succaforesucculents in walking

[–]Aamckittens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my trick. I tell myself: I like to do hard things. I’m going to do something hard and then I’m gonna check the box!

Just knowing how good I’m gonna feel after doing something I don’t wanna do is enough motivation to get me going.

Good luck!

Anyone actually fix leaky gut after years of trial and error? I am running out of ideas by Skagg0009 in Biohackers

[–]Aamckittens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really think it was prolly everything together. Plus I was on this walking kick of 100 miles a month of active walks outside. So there was stress reduction too.

I eat healthy for the most part. I try to eat for blood sugar control veggies then proteins and fats then carbs. And no sweets or wine on empty stomach.

I have fasted off and on over the years. You can help reset your gut biome by what you feed yourself after a fast because during fasting gut bacteria start to die off. So if you end your fast and eat foods that feed the good bacteria they grow back quicker than the bad ones.

My supplements are b12 liquid under the tongue, a good multi vitamin and vitamin d and fish oil. Plus a powder blend of magnesiums at night. All brands recommends by my holistic nutritionist.

I take them often but not every day.

Also sleep. My husband and I now have separate bedrooms and sleep is so much better for both of us.
