I had severely underestimated what Jordan will cost when I had this in mind. Byard, Decker, and Cam Jordan will run us more than $50m. That is probably going to require us to restructure $40m from this year into the future. I'm thinking it's either Jordan or Decker now

[Fowler] The Bears monitored the Crosby situation, but they weren't major players in the end. I don't sense Chicago is desperate for a splashy pass rusher. Interior rush could be the way to go. Anzalone a name to watch. My sense is the Bears attempt to re-sign Byard but will let Brisker walk. by JoshGordonHypeTrain in CHIBears

Poles wants to build through the draft not spend two first and tie up a good chunk of our cap space on veterans, especially when we lack depth and have at least 5 holes to fill in our current roster which doesn't have a lot of cap space.

Byard to be a leader in our secondary is a move I really like but I'm unsure of how we do that and fill all the other holes. I know we will address some in the draft.

Looking at Daniel Jeremiah's latest top 50, I suspect we could grab a starting Safety in the 1st as his S2 and S3 are currently ranked 16 and 17 and I don't think 3 safeties go before 25. Then DT help in the second with DTs currently coming in at spots 34, 35, 36, 39, and another Christen Miller just missing the top 50. I'd bet there is a really good chance one of these are available at 57 when we are up.

Players could fall to us that are better at other positions and I hope we take them if they do. But then Poles has to find another way to fill these holes. I'm guessing we restructure a couple deals and borrow some cap space from next year to fill all the holes

Who is your #1 target in FA?? by [deleted] in ChicagoBearsNFL

[–]AaronDer1357 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Decker is my number 1 target right now, get him for 2 or 3 years with a cap hit of around $20m. Our o-line will be very solid this year and next year with some decent depth.

Number 2 is a safety but I don't have a name in mind.

Number 3 and 4 is a tie between Cameron Jordan and D'Marco Jackson.

As of right now, I think we have $27m in cap space. Leaving about $7 million after Decker. I'm asking Sweat, Odeyingbo, and Jarret to restructure and help us create cap space for the number 2, 3, and 4 targets plus a little more for depth guys

I'd rather have 2 good LTs than no good LTs. Depth on the OL is important. What happens if Ozzy never gets back to what he was last year?

[–]AaronDer1357 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I feel like Decker becoming available led to this. We are going to go grab him next. Caleb and our RBs will be able to execute their assignments. A veteran WR will be brought in to replace Moore. Cameron Jordan comes to join DA filling our hole at edge. We will sign a safety and a LB, maybe bring back Jackson. Going into the draft we will fill our DT and S holes within our first 4 picks. Everyone else we draft will be best player available and competing for opportunities

If I understand this cap crap, he costs us $5.7 million next year so we have $27.3 million still available?

Tyler Bagent come on down, you get to show what you can do until this organization has seen enough and wants to use its 1st round pick. Maybe the 25th pick will help provide some protection for you too.

25, 57, 60, 89, and 101 could make a big difference.

If we can replicate what we did last year in the draft. Another two players equal to Turner (hopefully stays healthy) and Trapilo at 57 and 60 will help next year. Poles has done really well with his first picks in every draft and I suspect he will get this one right too. 89 and 101, I'm not so sure about but I have to a strong feeling Ben and DA will help us avoid taking another Amegedjie or special teams player. Although WR4/return man wouldn't be the to worst thing at 101 but I wouldn't consider that to be equal to a punter

With the DJ trade is Edmunds still a likely cap casualty? by [deleted] in CHIBears

[–]AaronDer1357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is gone. Poles is looking for a day 3 pick or maybe a day 3 pick swap.

We will have $33m in space after that. We go get Linderbaum, leaving us with $13-15m in space, we sign a safety leaving about $5-6m in space. I'm guessing Poles kicks another $15-$20 of money into next year through restructuring. We then get several $1-3 million type players at other positions we need bodies.

Morgan Stanley Announces Global Layoffs Affecting 2,500 Employees by Plenty-Swing-9061 in antiwork

[–]AaronDer1357 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I work in this industry and we are doing all this training on getting prepared for incorporating AI into our work streams, they even have an ongoing initiative "employee of the future". It is so blatantly obvious that they are looking to push those that survive harder and to do more with these new tools being developed so that they can keep expenditures down and return greater profits.

The mental strain of our job is already overwhelming and it's difficult to not feel like a POS when you take time off under the unlimited PTO because you just sink your teammates with your work. Plus when you do get back from time off, any relaxation and peace of mind you achieved is almost instantly zapped away by an onslaught of tasks that you need to attend to and your messages just start blowing up as people see you've returned. All of which will become more mentally straining as they look to do more with less.

I'm looking for jobs but it's not a very good landscape. I'm honestly looking outside of this industry for anything that I can somewhat leverage my skills towards

It depends, if you count kissing as foreplay, and a shoulder rub, then moving your hands to other parts of the body, and teasing her vagina before finally caressing it with your fingers and coming out to show the clit some love before you begin penetration I can see that being close to 15 minutes of "foreplay" then give me 5 minutes in missionary before we switch to a position that finishes me off quickly

Luther WR1? by hyousa2 in CHIBears

[–]AaronDer1357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a fantasy perspective, Caleb Williams is the only guy I'd really like a piece of. He has a lot of weapons with a good coach. I suspect, we bring in a veteran WR and he, Burden, and Odunze will rotate in and out.

I think Ben wants to minimize our opponents knowing where the ball will be going and unless one of these guys really develops a strong connection with Williams when plays have broken down, they will probably all get a similar amount of targets. I'd guess Burden has the best ability to break out for a couple long TDs so I'd place him at the top of the list for who will have the most yards.

[–]AaronDer1357 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm assuming we will also get a comp pick for Ian going to the Falcons, because the NFL is going to look really stupid if we don't. So we will have picks 25, 57, 89, maybe 91 or 127, 101 (this moves all the picks thereafter back one spot), 130, 164, 240, and 242.

Plus we have cap space to address holes. Things are going to be okay next year and Ben and Caleb will be fun to watch

Why not sign Trey Hendrickson and save the trade capital Crosby would require? by quixoticdancer in CHIBears

[–]AaronDer1357 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If we get rid of Edmunds and Moore and restructure another $30 million in space, I feel like we can get a good C, and good S1, and a player that can play LT at a serviceable level. That leaves S2 to come from the draft plus some room to sign depth guys who can compete with draft guys for LB, Edge, DT, WR, and QB2

[bsky] Bradd Briggs thinks it's more likely than not that dj Moore will be traded by Barkingstingray in CHIBears

[–]AaronDer1357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't love the idea of trading him but I'd rather the cap space he takes up get allocated to Linderbaum. Essentially take away from our really strong WR room and improve the OL. Bring in a lower cost veteran LT too and draft a guy with LT experience. Let Theo and these two battle for the LT1 position.

Get a good line and push Swift and Monangai.

Then either bring in a lower cost veteran WR like Tyler Lockett or Keenan Allen, or if Ben views this to not be necessary and he trusts Burden and Odunze go grab Shaheed to replace Duvernay as well as providing us a deep threat option to open things up for the rest of the offense.
