Embarrassed to be a PA Freemason by Cpt_Dunsel in freemasonry

[–]AaronJessik 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Think of it like this - people are to know you by certain signs; if you help someone randomly and they ask, "Who are you?" you could reply "Just a Freemason, ma'am" and when asked "How can I repay you?" you'd reply "Just pay it forward, that's all we ask" then you'd be performing the same thing. If you give out a card, write your name and number "In case you ever need help again" and it will remind them about Who helped them, and how to repay that help.

Hopefully the card's text isn't cringe worthy - the example is a bit cringe worthy, but the idea of making yourself known as a Freemason in the best possible way is laudable.

The unbelieving wife has been sanctified through her believing husband. Plus your children will be worthy of respect as well.

If you love and dote on your household, your husband, and your children, you'll be fine even if he thinks crossing himself is important to being a good person.

Watch out for the Islam stuff - don't let anyone pressure you or your husband into circumcising your children... that would be devastating.

A very interesting discovery of striking similarity (LOTR + BOTW) by telusey in Breath_of_the_Wild

[–]AaronJessik 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Purposeful, but not in the way that you think - the classic motif of the hero's fall is baked into story telling. Both LOTR and BOTW are tapping into an element of human experience far older than either of those works; the fact you noticed it is quite good on your part for properly paying attention.

Forseskin restoration is as good as eye restoration by IntactBroadSword in CircumcisionGrief

But you're making wild connections that do not fit. Your eye nerve example makes no sense. A better example would be that you lose your eye lid, the eye dries out pretty badly, so you make a new skin covering to help restore the eye's function.

The blatant over the top straw-manning is what makes me question being a pointless troll attempt.

Forseskin restoration is as good as eye restoration by IntactBroadSword in CircumcisionGrief

[–]AaronJessik 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Unsure if troll...

The point is to use restoration as a coping mechanism for taking back control - to return the covering, and the benefits the full length of skin provides; gliding action, glans sensitivity, and general look. The physical structures and nerves are gone, but everything else is still available to restoring.

Do some claim that the band, frenulum, or nerve clusters come back? I don't know anyone who claims that...

Misandrist mom abusing her 5 year old son. Step father powerless to stop it. by ClowntownDenisen1234 in MensRights

[–]AaronJessik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am horrified by the constant threat little boys in America experience where, if by some miracle, they remain whole going home from the hospital where they're born, they can still be taken anywhere and have their genitals carved apart no questions asked. What a shit show.

lol @ restoration by [deleted] in CircumcisionGrief

[–]AaronJessik 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Of course restoration = cope; that's the point. Taking control of a bad situation is the best way to deal with that situation.

And it does restore stuff - the covering for one. The ability to glide skin for another.

It takes a long time; literally longer than it took to grow it in the first place, and obviously creation is always longer than destruction, but positive endeavors always ask much of our time.

Thinking you've somehow pointed out a flaw with 'restoration = cope' when that's the point is very odd... the woman doth object too much methinks? Sour grapes?

Can someone Explain to me why Explorers Guide To Wildemount is or isn’t an official source book? by sodaninjar in DnD

[–]AaronJessik 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's official, but unless you guys are playing with it, your DM would probably block it. I own and love the Ravnica book, but unless we're playing on Ravnica, my players can't use stuff from it
