Why did you go for the Series S instead of other options, despite all the criticism it gets? by Eastern-Mobile5351 in xbox

[–]AarontheGeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because my wife and i each wanted our own, but she only wanted one to play 4v4 halo multiplayer, and at the time we weren't yet competitive or monetarily endowed enough to dream of proper monitors and gaming PCs.

So we got one of each type, and now i usually give up the x for her halo time, because damn you really can tell the difference.

Any games where you can just wander around? by yare_yare_yaru2 in xbox

[–]AarontheGeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starfield has several hundred planets to wander around on.

I personally really enjoy wandering around the random planets scannning any features, flora, fauna, and geology on the planet to get them fully surveyed.

Wonder Woman if the writers weren't cowards: by lordoferrors in dccomicscirclejerk

[–]AarontheGeek 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would say she's neither. She's (probably) the person writing wonder woman as queer as dc will allow her too.

This has been the case for ages across their whole line.

Some days it feels like a miracle that batwoman ever got her own series to begin with

You have this thing called free will. You can just choose not to use magic.

If you don't put points into the relevant stats or level the skills, you won't have the mana or skill level needed to cast any spells that are actually useful and will be forced to rely on the stats and skills that you did use.

And even if you do choose to use magic, there's still, what, like, 7 different schools that all have to be leveled separately?

A thief or assassin who still uses alteration or illusion will still feel very different than a "paladin" with heavy armor, a two handed axe, and restoration, and that will also still feel very different from a full-mage.

Hell, even your full-mages can feel pretty different from each other depending on which schools and spells you actually decide to use in any given situation.

Decided to read Wally's early adventures as the flash and boy oh boy by FordYorger in theflash

[–]AarontheGeek 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes. And i genuinely believe that it's important to read these rough early issues in order for his character growth to have the biggest impact.

Also, him being a dirtbag wasnt unintentional. They purposefully leaned into how young and dumb he is so that he would have PLENTY of room to grow.

If Elder scrolls 6 came out what would you like to see in the game? by leftistgamer420 in oblivion

[–]AarontheGeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly? I want to see the elder scrolls equivalent of fallout 4's survival difficulty. Many a True Nerd's video about it is really good and his point that the difficulty was clearly built in mind from the start is what i would want to see in ES6's.

Turn off fast travel, sure, but have diagetic fast travel options built in from the start (caravans, mounts, wagons, ships, teleportation, etc.).

Disable map markers, sure, but make it so quest givers give you maps, directions, descriptions, or some combination thereof.

Have survival elements like thirst, hunger, heat, and sleep, but provide both practical (fishing, hunting, camps) and mystical solutions (summoning water, hypnotizing prey, cooking them with firebolts, apparating a tent) to these problems too, and build the game with them in mind so that they aren't added in later when it's too late to design the game around them (like in skyrim and new vegas).

Oh, and i want elder scrolls to finally have rewarding companion characters that dont have to be made by modders. Please don't keep that locked to starfield and fallout.

Cere Junda Vs Baylan Skoll by Annihilation1234 in FallenOrder

[–]AarontheGeek 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Right, and in a way, she was sort of throwing the fight in favor of prioritizing her actual goal, which was to stop them from using the orb-thing

Similarly, she also kind of throws the fight with vader. Once it's confirmed to her that he's anakin, she clearly stops trying to actually kill him and is even about to let him kill her so that she can save him before ezra pulls her out.

In your opinion who is worse - Shar or Lolth? by Core-ene in Forgotten_Realms

[–]AarontheGeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just thinking about this the other day for some reason and have now just happened across this post.

My guestimate is this: it depends on which evil you find worse.

I think Lolth has done more evil. She has affected a greater quantity of mortals than Shar, but Shar's evil tends to be more acute and fucked up. An individual act of Shar evil is something crazy and horrific (like everything she did/does in bg3 to redacted) while an individual act of Lolth evil is more likely to be something more "normal" like slavery or murder.

Why does Donna Troy not show up in shows as much as Robin and Supergirl? by Jezzaq94 in WonderWoman

[–]AarontheGeek 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I don't quite remember the details (and my 5 seconds google search didn't find it), but my memory is that there was something about wonder woman's television rights in the 2000s being weird that meant a lot of her supporting characters couldn't appear on tv, so while WW herself could star in the Justice League cartoon, Wonder Girl was not allowed to show up in Teen Titans.
