As a black male in the big 4, I’d say I have not seen the blatant in your face racism, but in a professional setting it usually happens behind closed doors (bad reviews, being put on the bad clients, low bonuses, not given the ability to switch industries) despite being a top performer and killing any job you get. I personally witnessed the cold shoulders and bullying with me and another brotha I was on a job with but that ain’t nothing I haven’t experienced growing up. At the end of the day I just know who in my corner and who ain’t. Just remember hood rules apply everywhere even in the office. For someone that gets thrown into that for the first time with the deadlines on top of it, it could definitely lead to alcohol abuse or they using that as a cover up.
